ELFU Lucknow Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria
English Literature
- The candidate must have completed M.A. English with 55% marks for General/OBC (creamy layer) candidates, and 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled candidates.
- Or, must be M.Phil. English (Commonwealth Literature/ English Literature)
- Or, the candidate must be pursuing any of the qualifying programmes mentioned above and must have passed the examination by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility marks.
English Language Education
- The candidate must have completed M.A. in Teaching English as Second Language (TESL) / English Language Teaching(ELT) / English with at least one course in the area of ELT with 55% marks for General/OBC (creamy layer) candidates, and 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / differently-abled category candidates.
- Or, completion of Semester–I of PGDTE with a minimum of ‘B+’ grade for General / OBC (creamy layer) candidates, ‘B’ grade for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-abled category candidates
- Or, Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching of English (PGCTE) from CIEFL/EFL University with at least a ‘B+’ grade for General/OBC (creamy layer) candidates, ‘B’ grade for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently abled candidates
- Or, M. Phil.in English Language Education / English Language Teaching
- Or, the candidate must be pursuing any of the qualifying programmes mentioned above and must have passed the examination by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility marks.
Linguistics and Phonetics
- The candidate must have completed M.A. in Linguistics / Phonetics / Applied Linguistics / A. English (which includes papers /courses in Linguistics or Phonetics) with 55% marks for General/OBC (creamy layer) candidates, and 50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled candidates.
- Or, M.Phil. Linguistics / M.Phil. Phonetics / M.Phil. Applied Linguistics / M.Phil. English (with specialization in Linguistics or Phonetics).
- Or, PGDTE/PGCTE with a minimum of a ‘B+’ grade for general / OBC candidates, ‘B’ grade for SC/ST category candidates.
- Or, the candidate must be pursuing any of the qualifying programmes mentioned above and must have passed the examination by the time of admission and has scored the minimum eligibility marks.
Selection Criteria
Qualified candidates of the university conducted entrance exam will get admission in Ph.D. course by the personal interview round.
