Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat (IIIT Surat) offers a four-year B.Tech program in two specializations, namely Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science (CSE) and Engineering with a total intake capacity of 66 for each course. Candidates can check IIIT Surat JEE Main Cutoff here.
For the B.Tech admissions at IIIT Surat, candidates are required to appear for JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counseling for the final seat allotments. IIIT Surat charges INR 1.47 Lakhs per year for its B.Tech program.

IIIT Surat B.Tech Admission 2023
IIIT Surat offers a four-year B.Tech program in two specializations, namely Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science (CSE) and Engineering with a total intake capacity of 66 for each specialization. Admissions to the program are done on the basis of JEE Main rank followed by JoSAA Counselling.
IIIT Surat B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have passed 10+2 with PCM subject with a minimum of 50% of marks and the candidates belonging to SC and ST must have 45% of marks.
- The candidates who want to take admission through lateral entry must have completed a diploma after matriculation or after 10+2 in the relevant field.
IIIT Surat B.Tech Selection Criteria
Selection of candidates will be done through the JoSAA Counseling seat allotment process. Seats are allocated on the basis of JEE Main rank, category, choice filling, and other factors. The Institute does not make any decisions in the seat allocation process.
IIIT Surat B.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)
IIIT Surat JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. IIIT Surat BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

IIIT Surat B.Tech - How to Apply?
- Visit the official website of JEE Main
- Register for Online Application Form by entering the Email ID and Mobile Number.
- Note down the system generated Application Number displayed on the screen.
- Create a password and choose a Security Question and its answer as well.
- Once the password is created and application number is recorded, the candidate can login again and start filling the application form.
- Enter the personal, academic details as inquired and upload the scanned images of photographs and signature
- Pay the application fee through Debit /Credit Card /Net Banking /UPI /PAYTM. Only after successful confirmation of payment, the application will be considered informed and Candidate can take a print of the Confirmation Page.
- Retain this hard copy print of the application form for future reference.

Ans. The institute is currently being run on the campus of SVNIT. The academic years of both colleges are the same. The hostel facility and teaching staff are exceptional. They are also required to have a minimum of 75% in their 12th examination. Students who are eligible can register for the seat allocation through JoSSA. There are seven rounds for seat allocation. The seat acceptance fee has to be paid by the students after they are accepted for the colleges. They have to get their documents verified by the institute during physical reporting. Remarks:
Students have to pass an exam known as JEE Mains and a cutoff is released by the JOSAA administration body. The application form is the JOSAA counselling form which will be available on their official website. Reservation is purely based on the rules and regulations booklet which is provided by JOSAA itself so if you fulfill their criteria then you can avail the benefits. Notifications should be included as a part of the admission process by JOSAA so that students who are new to Technology can get a reminder.

You should have 75% on the 12th board. You can fill form of JEE on the NTA portal. The application fee in my case was 650 rupees. The dates of application may be around November or December. For reservation, I got obc certificate from the central government if you have a state one you have to upgrade to central. There should be improvement in the counseling process it is very complex and anyone can make mistakes during counseling.

Admission was through Jee mains. And counseling was through Jossa counseling. One should get under 40k rank to get Ece as a general candidate in this college. The application form is released by Nta each year and after a particular rank, this college is alloted. There are reservation benefits for Obc Sc and St students. Benefit of reservation is that one gat get into this college under a low rank like 60k and 1,30,000 rank. The admission process is secured and good.

We need to appear in jee mains i.e. entrance exam. Application details of jee mains can be found online. There is a reservation for EWS, SC, ST AND PWD students. Eligibility for appearing in jee mains is that person should have opted for science maths stream in 11th and 12th.

My friend joined IIIT Surat in 2019 and it turned out to be an average experience for him. Even though it ranks #4 on the NIRF ranking portal, it still has a number of shortcomings that get balanced out by its few achievements.
- The college director is very cooperative and has contributed a lot to the college. He supported students in starting startups, by assigning a club.
- With his efforts, the college is now registered in the database of different states in just 3 years which is remarkable.
- He has also set up a computer lab and an electronics lab as well.
- IIIT Surat faculty is good and well experienced. They will assign you a lot of real industry projects.
- The coding culture is good as well, and SVNIT is the mentoring institute of IIIT Surat.

The hostel however has some room deficit. Some buildings are closed for renovation and the others have minimal rooms available. Also, MSc and M.Tech students can reside in Tagore Bhavan. As all of them are IIITs they are known to have a similar level of curriculum. However, my cousins are currently studying at IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Bhopal. Their honest opinions state that IIIT Lucknow is the best choice among all of them because of the following reasons:
- The first batch of IIIT Lucknow is placed and none of the other IIITs mentioned has witnessed a single placement season yet. Placements of IIIT Lucknow were so great which is rare for an institute participating in placements for the first time.
- The permanent campus for IIIT Lucknow is almost ready while for IIIT Bhopal and Surat, the work for construction is yet to start. My cousin is a 1st-year student of IIIT Lucknow and also the very first batch of the newly built permanent campus of IIIT Lucknow.
- The coding culture at IIIT Lucknow is the best among all the newly built IIITS.
- Seniors are extremely supportive and Workshops are being conducted by them already.
- You may face some problems due to not having enough resources as it is a new campus, but so will be the same for other new IIITS.
- And lastly, Lucknow being a metropolitan city will give you a lot of advantages, with metro being started and Campus being in the city itself.
Although quality education is common in all of these IIITs, IIIT Lucknow holds an edge over the others. The points mentioned above may prove to be minor for some of you but for many people out there, these points matter a lot and might have cleared a lot of confusion in your mind.

I have friends at both Thapar and IIT Surat and according to their reviews, I will say, IIIT Surat is the best among both the colleges for the computer science branch especially. IIIT's are basically known for their computer science and information technology branch that can provide you with an ambient atmosphere to study and grow. IIITs have a more updated syllabus than IITs/NITs or private colleges.
There is no doubt that Thapar University is also one of the leading universities and when it is compared with IIIT Surat based on ranking, Thapar University is above, but the major drawback is the faculty.
