Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Jammu was established in 1999. Under the UG domain, the university offers B.Sc (Hons), B.V.Sc & A.H., and B.Tech programs. Under the PG Domain, M.Sc, M.V.Sc, M.F.Sc, M.Tech, and HBM programs are offered. SKUAST also offers Ph.D. courses under various specializations.

Admissions to all the UG and PG courses are done on the basis of the score obtained in the SKUAST-J CET, supplemented by marks in the qualifying examination.
Admissions to the Ph.D., Diploma, and certificate courses are solely merit-based.
Application forms can be submitted online.
For admission to the UG courses and Diploma courses, candidates should have passed 10+2 examinations.
For admission to the PG courses, candidates should have completed graduation in any relevant discipline.
For admission to the Ph.D. courses, candidates who hold a master’s degree are eligible.
Candidates who have passed 10th grade can apply for certificate courses.

SKUAST Jammu B.Sc., B.V.Sc & AH Admission 2023

SKUAST, Jammu offers a B.Sc. course with specializations in Agriculture and Biotechnology and a B.V.Sc course both full-time and for a duration of 3 years.

The institute has recently launched a B.Tech Hons program in Biotechnology. The details are summarised below:

SKUAST offers full-time masters’ courses for a duration of 2 years in M.Sc. in 4 specializations, an M.V.Sc. in 16 specializations, M.Tech in 2 specializations, and M.Sc.(Allied Science and Agriculture) in 13 specializations.

SKUAST Jammu M.Tech Admission 2023

SKUAST Jammu Ph.D. Admission 2023

SKUAST also offers full-time Ph.D. programs in three specializations, namely, Allied Science, Veterinary, and Basic Sciences.

Candidates who have completed a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline and secured a minimum of 65% marks are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course. Selection is based on performance in UG and PG examinations and also performance during interviews and counseling rounds.

SKUAST Jammu Application Process

How to Apply for SKUAST-J CET?

Visit the official website of the college.
Click on the “SKUAST-J Common Entrance Test (CET)-2021” link and fill the form carefully with valid credentials.
In the first part, fill in all the personal details cautiously and in the second part, fill in your educational details. Make sure the name and other details are filled in BLOCK LETTERS.
In the next step, add your photograph and signature as required.
Verify all the details and finally, submit the form.
The application fee of INR 1800 is now to be paid via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
Take print out of the confirmation page(s) of the online application format and preserve it for future reference.
The Admit Card can be downloaded from the University website.

Counselling Process

The candidates must come for counseling along with all documents in original, a set of attested copies of all documents, the admit card issued by SKUAST-J and a counselling fee of INR 1000 (nonrefundable). The documents include:

Permanent resident/domicile certificate
Date of birth certificate (Matriculation certificate)
Marks certificate of qualifying examination
Category certificate, if applicable

FAQs

Ques. Are there hostel facilities available?

Ans. Yes, there are four hostels (two each for boys and girls). All the hostels have sufficient rooms with adequate furniture and fixtures.

Ques. Can NRI Candidates also apply?

Ans. Yes, NRI candidates must submit a copy of their qualifying examination marks sheet duly verified and certified by the Indian Embassy/High Commission in the country of their residence, stating that such examination is equivalent to university prescribed qualifying examination of Indian Boards/Universities.

Ques. If two candidates receive the same marks, what is the order of preference?

Ans. For undergraduate courses:

Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology/or Mathematics
Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in aggregate.
Candidates older in age to be preferred if points as per (i) and (ii) are equal.

For postgraduate courses:

Candidates obtaining higher marks at graduation level
Candidates older in age to be preferred if points as per (i) are equal
