It was established as SRM Engineering College in 1985 under the University of Madras. The SRM University, Vadapalani Campus was established in 2011. The campus offers courses under the schools of Mechanical Engineering, Computing, Electrical and Electronics, Basic Sciences, Languages, Management, Computer Science, Commerce, English and Mathematics.

Candidates have to apply through the common applications available on the university website.
Candidates having successfully completed class 12^th can apply for admissions to various undergraduate courses.
Admissions to B.Tech will be based on the entrance exam conducted by the university- SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (SRMJEEE) or JEE Main scores.
For other courses, candidates will be admitted on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam.
Graduation degree in the concerned disciplines is necessary for applying for PG courses.

At under graduate level, SRM University offers Bachelor’s in Technology. Candidates must have obtained Higher Secondary Examinations Certificate with at least 50% aggregate marks. Qualifying exam must be passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. For admissions to B.Tech courses, the university conducts its entrance exam- SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (SRMJEEE). List of qualifying candidates will be published at the official website.

Key Points:

Direct admission is offered for candidates who have secured first rank in class 12^th, under 1000 in JEE Main, top rankers in all districts of Tamil Nadu and Sports (National/ International) level.

Apart from B.Tech courses, under graduate courses are offered in Business Administration, Science, Computer Applications, Commerce and Arts. For B.Sc (Computer Science) and BCA it is necessary that candidates must have studied Mathematics or Computer Science with Mathematics in class 12^th.

Candidates must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in qualifying examination to apply for various under graduate courses. Admissions to all the UG courses will be based on marks obtained by candidates in the qualifying exam.

At its Vadapalani campus, the university offers post graduate courses in Commerce and Arts. Candidates seeking admissions to MA (English), musty have obtained Bachelor’s in concerned disciplines with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Applicants who have obtained graduation degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science or Business Management are eligible to apply for M.Com. Admissions to M.Com and MA (Arts) are made through the merit list issued based on candidate’s score in qualifying degree examination.

Madras Institute of Technology is under Anna University. These two aren’t separate. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages, after completing your degree, MIT isn’t a good option. Not many core companies visit the campus drive for recruitment. Although placements in the non-core sector are good. MIT offers good academics and you can benefit from the institute if you are aiming to pursue higher studies. The course fee is nominal. The course costs around INR 1.58 lakhs.

SRM is a good option if infrastructure is your priority. Although the university fees are a little higher.

Is it worth doing bcom accounting and finance in SRM institute of science and technology Chennai. What's the scope and could you please give me full details like exams we should persuade, college etc.

Infrastructure: The college has decent infrastructural facilities with great importance to sports and extracurricular activities
Academics: Honestly, this is where the Institute lacks. The staff delivers robotic knowledge without any lively classroom discussions making the learning experience monotonous.
Placements: The placement cell of the college works pretty hard to maintain a decent placement scenario and students with good academic performance usually get good packages.
ROI: Another aspect I feel one should consider is the ROI which is low in case of SRM. The fees are extremely high in comparison to the academic standards but the surety of placements makes people choose it anyway.

Which is better SRM Vadapalani or JUET Guna?

SRM Vadapalani is any day better than JUET Guna. After discussing with some students of these colleges, I can say that, even though JUET has an amazing placement record and infrastructure, SRM has a bigger brand value than the Jaypee group.

SRM has highly qualified faculties with few of them having prior industrial experiences. They strive to keep the environment of SRM highly competitive.
You will definitely get a better crowd at SRM where there is a high level of peer-to-peer learning when compared to JUET.
Placement statistics of SRM speak for themselves.
Even in location, academic curriculum, and campus infrastructure wise SRM leads the list.
The only factor that favors JUET Guna is if you don't prefer to study down south on SRM main campus.
In that case, you can still opt for CSE at JUET which has a decent placement. The average CTC there stands at 11 LPA. But it's not the same in the case of other branches.

SRM has been accredited 'A++' Grade by NAAC and is ranked 41st in India by NIRF whereas PDPU got an 'A' grade by NAAC and is graded Autonomy by UGC. It's ranked 177th in India by NIRF. On the other hand, IITRAM is graded Autonomy by UGC. It's ranked 201st in India by NIRF. Manipal has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade and is ranked 45th in India by NIRF.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology seems a better choice to go with. Having cracked the SRM University Entrance Test, some of my friends still chose ECE with Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. SRM has an edge in terms of placement opportunities due to it being located in the city.
