Birla Global University (BGU) is a self-financed private University located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was established in the year 2008. BGU Bhubaneswar offers courses at the Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The UG courses offered are BA (Hons), BBA (Hons), BAJMC (Hons), B. Com (Hons), B.Sc (Hons.) and BBA. LLB (Hons). The PG courses are M. Com, MBA, MA in Economics and MAJMC.

Candidates can apply for the various courses offered by BGU online or by downloading the Birla Global University Application Form.
The minimum eligibility for UG courses is 10+2 qualifications from a recognized board.
Admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of a written test and personal interview.
The minimum eligibility for PG courses is a graduate degree in the relevant field.
Admission to M.Com, MA, and MAMJC is based on a written test and personal interview.
MBA admission is done on the basis of a valid CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT or GMAT score followed by a write-up, GD & PI.
Selection is also done through the BGU MBA Entrance Test score.
For Ph.D. admission, a Master’s degree or Professional degree with 55% marks is required.
Admission to Ph.D. is based on an Entrance Test conducted by BGU.
Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET are exempted from Ph.D. Entrance Test.

After the screening of the application, eligible candidates will be informed of the date and venue of the selection process.
The selection process consists of a 300-word write-up to evaluate candidates’ writing ability, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview at various centers.

GD & PI will be held at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna, Jamshedpur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Greater Noida between December to January.

Admission to all these PG courses is based on a written test followed by a personal interview.

For LLM Course – The University shall conduct LL.M Entrance Test (LET) for each academic session. BGU Bhubaneswar Ph.D. Selection Criteria

Admission to the program will be based on an Entrance Test conducted by the University centrally. However, candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/Teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. program through entrance test are exempted from the Ph.D. Entrance Test.

The selection process will comprise of two stages-

Stage 1

An Entrance Test shall be conducted with qualifying marks as 50%.
The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of Research Methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific.
The Entrance Test shall be conducted at the Centre(s) notified in advance by the University. The written test shall be qualifying for the viva-voce.

Stage 2

An interview/viva-voce is to be organized by the University where the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Subject Research Committee.
The final list of candidates selected for admission into the Ph.D. program shall be prepared by the Board.

The interview/viva-voce will consider the following aspects:

The candidate possesses the competence for the proposed research;
The research work can be suitably undertaken at the Institution.
The proposed area of research can contribute to new/additional knowledge.

The applications for admission to Birla Global University Courses are invited through both online and offline modes. Candidates should follow the below-given steps to apply:

Choose the desired course and fill the form accordingly and make a fee payment of INR. 1150/- online using Net/banking/Debit Card/credit card or offline payment using DD drawn in favor of Birla Global University, payable at Bhubaneswar.
After the successful submission of the application, it will be processed to verify the eligibility of the candidate and hence after verification candidate will be intimidated about the date and venue of the selection process.

BGU Bhubaneswar Scholarship Schemes

Scheme 1: Under this scheme, a fee waiver of 15% is offered to the students who have secured a minimum percentile of 60% marks or equivalent in class 10th, 12th, and graduation along with a minimum 60 percentile in CAT/XAT/GMAT.
Scheme 2: 10% of a fee waiver is offered to the students who have secured a GP of 60% or equivalent in class 10, 12 and Graduation and have secured a minimum of 60 percentile in MAT/CMAT/GBU Entrance test.

Having talked to multiple students studying in these colleges and based on the interaction I had with them here are some of the insights that might be useful to you:

If you want to pursue MBA, go with GJ Bajaj of Management and Research due to location advantage and slightly better branding.
All the mentioned colleges are tier 3 colleges so if you want to take admission in any other course, you can go with any of them.

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Management, Science, Commerce, Liberal Arts, and Law, along with relevant specialization options in each program.

The fully residential campus has all the required facilities including great placement support, an experienced faculty and strong industry interaction. Apart from the regular curriculum, you will also receive opportunities for practical learning through various internships, short-term projects, live projects and industrial visits.

BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar, currently known as Birla Global University, offers a two-year full-time MBA Programme. Under this program students can select the specialization of their choice one of them being MBA in Human Resource.

The university builds on the knowledge capital developed by BIMTECH, Greater Noida over the last 30 years. It’s a good place to pursue the said course due to its experiential learning module and great placement opportunities.

BIMTECH does not offer BBA and neither MBA, it offers PGDM instead. BGU does not offer BBA as well. But why only these two, you can and you should in fact wait for the 12th result and you might get a better score and get into DU or some better college.

Techno India University in Kolkata is famous for its engineering and management programs. The BBA course is a 3-year full-time course. Students with 60% in their 10th and 12th exam are eligible to apply for admission. The course focuses on the knowledge of the functional areas and interconnections of the company. It develops students’ practical managerial skills, communication skills, and business decision-making capabilities. They give importance to the student’s practical approach in constructing case projects, presentations, and experience taking part in internships and industrial training. The fees of BBA is 1.55 lakhs.

Placement Details:

Placements are above average, almost 40% of students were placed from the BBA department.
