Course Description

Latest update: NCU, Gurgaon conducted a personal interview for candidates between June 18 and 20, 2020. Candidates appeared for the first admission cum merit list on June 25, 2020 and second admission cum merit list on July 7, 2020. The last date for the admission was July 17, 2020.

The North Cap University or NCU offers a 3 year programme in BA (Hons.) in two disciplines: Economics and Psychology.

As part of the minimum requirement to get admission, the candidates must have passed the 12th standard.
The candidates must also be younger than 21 years old as of December 31 of the applying year.
The courses are divided into 6 semesters.
At the end of each semester, the students must sit through examinations/assignments to move on to the next semester.
The admissions to the above mentioned courses are solely provided based on the merit obtained.

NCU BA Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must satisfy any one of the eligibility requirements as mentioned below:

Candidates must have at least 50% or equivalent in CGPA for their 12th standard examination in relevant subjects.
Candidates must have a minimum of 1110 marks in SAT
Candidates must have a minimum of 26 marks in IB

NCU BA Admission Guidelines

NCU Admissions for BA (Hons) programs are merit-based. However, candidates should have a minimum mark in their 12th/SAT/IB scores.

The steps to apply for the test mentioned below:

Candidates must visit the official NCU websites and register themselves by creating an account
Candidates must provide a valid e-mail address and phone number, which the university will use to contact them.
The website will ask the candidates must verify themselves via OTP
Then the candidates must fill in the application form online for the course of their choice.
The candidates must then pay the application fee as the last step of applying.
After paying the application fees the candidates must submit their application.
The university will contact the candidates regarding their applications

:As part of the selection criteria, candidates must have at least the minimum marks as mentioned below:

10th marks – 30%
12th marks – 50%
Personal Interview – 10%
Essay Writing – 10%

NCU BA Course Details

The BA Hons programs offered at NCU have two disciplines of Psychology and Economics. The core curriculum is supplemented with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The course also includes three mandatory foreign language studies in French, Spanish and German to all. The students also have many electives they can choose from.

Students will have to do a minor project and mandatory 30-hour lab training at the end of year 1 which has a total of 5 credits.
At the end of year 2, students will have to take part in the mandatory summer internship which has 4 credits.
Every semester student has a general proficiency which consists of 1 credit for each semester.
The total credits for the B.A. (H) programs are 138.
BA (H) Psychology course has a minor project and a mandatory 30-hour lab training which has a total of 5 credits
The students have a mandatory summer internship that has 4 total credits. They also have general proficiency with a credit score of 1 for every semester.
The whole course has a total credit score of 134.

According to the reviews online, the BBA program at NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram is a really good choice for students residing in NCR with an interest in Business Management.

Their BBA program offers specialisation in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management.
NCU is one of the few universities that provides students with an intricate and detailed specialisation opportunity.
Other than their BBA General program, they also have BBA with specialisation in Business Analytics and Digital Marketing.
This allows students to focus completely on their preferred area throughout their college.
The professors are highly experienced and put emphasis on practical learning rather than only theoretical studies.

One of my friends studied at Chandigarh University (CU). According to him, CSE at CU is really good compared to other colleges of its level.

CSE here is mainly popular for its placements. More than 100 companies participate in their placement program.

Talking about B.Tech CSE, Sharda University can be considered a better choice than Northcap. It is a very well reputed institution in terms of opportunities and respective training sessions in technical sectors for the Global environment.

Academics:

Northcap University, which however is not as well ranked as Sharda University, is also incapable of providing the required amount of exposure as needed for the industrial sectors.
On the contrary, Sharda University being a greater institution in itself has various tie-ups with other higher organizations and foreign universities.

Faculty:

Sharda University is bestowed with extremely friendly and highly professional professors which rather is the greater plus point for any respective stream.
Northcap, as even mentioned by some of its students, comes up with a very poor record of having a group of inexperienced and unsupportive professors. The employability you will attain after pursuing B.Tech from Northcap is uncertain.

Sharda University has recorded well for the past few years to provide a good deployment rate in the B.Tech branch. On the upper hand, various organizations like IBM, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and more have arrived occasionally for campus recruitment every particular year, and students of the university are offered 2 LPA to 5 LPA without hesitation.

ITM (NCU) Gurgaon (Now The North Cap University, Gurgaon) outperforms MSIT college. Having friends studying in both these colleges, I can assure you that there are many reasons behind choosing ITM.

They have better placement records in the CS and IT fields in recent years. Students are offered a good salary package.
Top companies such as Wipro, Accenture, TCS, and Infosys are frequent visitors offering placements, internships and industry visits.
They have better infrastructure facilities.
The faculty members are well experienced and highly educated.
A well-equipped library is provided.
Labs with high-speed internet and cutting-edge software are also provided.

SRM, Sonepat, and Northcap University, Gurgaon are both UGC approved private institutions of India. While SRM has been graded ‘A’ by NAAC, Northcap is not graded, but accredited by the same. Northcap is also ranked 151 out of 200 top universities by NIRF. Both universities have their unique set of pros and cons and an individual must research them thoroughly before choosing one. CSE is one of the most popular branches of engineering programs at both institutions.
