Remarks:

I chose NMIMS Bangalore over KJ Somaiya from where i got an offer as well because NMIMS is a brand name, the batch size compared to KJ Somaiya is one third and the average placement is higher as well. One other reason would be the high cost of living in Mumbai. I applied to KJ Somaiya and TAPMI as well. Rejected KJ Somaiya and didn’t get shortlisted for TAPMI. I got rejected from TAPM, their shortlisting criteria completely changed and I couldn’t do anything to change it. The admission process for NMIMS Bangalore is basically by clearing the NMAT exam, I scored around 230 and the cut off for it was i think around 224. NMIMS only take NMAT for consideration. The overall admission process is smooth only. Once you get the offer letter you just have to upload your documents and they will upload them in sometime

The BBA program offered by NMIMS Bangalore is great. The department has a top-notch faculty branch. Most of the faculty members are alumni of reputed B-Schools such as IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, etc. Most of the faculty members are friendly and cooperative.

NMIMS BBA syllabus is extensive. You will learn the recent industry trends and practices. This program is accredited by ANBA, this certification adds more value to the degree.

NMIMS Bangalore placements are good. Around 93% of students get placed from BBA each year. The average CTC received by the students of BBA is around INR 5-6 LPA.

According to the student’s reviews online, The average CTC (domestic) is INR 18.33 LPA. All the B-Schools of the country publish their placement reports based on CTC or cost to company numbers.

There is a huge difference between CTC and in-hand salary. So if your question was related to 16 lakhs CTC then it could be a possibility but if your question was related to 16 lakhs in hand salary then it might vary.

The average salary package may also vary depending on the company and your overall academic performance. Some companies offer students a 18-20 LPA salary package but they also have better grades. Whereas some Mass recruiting companies like TCS often give lots of job offers but with a lesser salary package.

Here are some of the reasons for choosing NMIMS Mumbai over NMIMS Bangalore.

  • The Mumbai campus has a locational advantage. You will get better exposure.
  • NMIMS Khatghar campus offers global university collaborations.
  • Mumbai houses many top MNCs, so you will have access to more recruiting companies and more opportunities.
  • NMIMS Navi Mumbai MBA placements are great. During the 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 10.7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 22 LPA.

In terms of facilities, placements, and opportunities, it is better than the Bangalore campus.

The hostel facility at NMIMS Bangalore is not great. I have a friend at NMIMS who has many complaints about the facilities provided at the hostel.

Here is some information based on his experience at the institute.

  • Hostel Fee: If you are going to the UG hostel the fees will be 180000 and food, room, transportation, laundry, and other house services are included.
  • Food: The food offered in the hostel is moderate, nothing special, and the menu is repeated weekly. At times, food is the same during lunch and dinner.
  • Rooms: The rooms are too packed and there is very little free space to move around. It barely fits two single beds with very little space to walk between them and has no ventilation. Fresh air or sunlight barely enters the rooms and the neighbors can see you through the window. Some of the rooms don’t even have curtains for privacy.
  • Curfew: The hostel comes with a lot of restrictions and the curfew timing is 9 pm. In case of emergency or extreme situations, the hostel won’t let you out whatsoever. Even with the permission of the parents, they make you go through a lot of trouble just so you can leave after 9 pm or you enter after 9 pm. The hostel is in the outer skirts and also you have fewer transportation modes available at night. It is situated far from the main city and market thus making it difficult to reach if anything is needed urgently.

At the same price, you can get a better pg or private hostel.

Yes, joining NMIMS Bangalore is definitely worth it. The student crowd is quite good. You will get to meet people with more than 48 months of experience. There are also people with family businesses. It has an AMBA accreditation. It is among the very few B-Schools in India to have this accreditation.

The statistics regarding NMIMS Bangalore placement are decent. In recent years, the highest and average CTC offered to the students was 16 LPA and 10.75 LPA respectively. Many companies from various sectors visit the campus placements.

NMIMS in Bangalore is widely recognized as one of the top business schools in India, with a history of over three decades of successful operation. The reason why companies visit these institutions for placement is due to the reputation and quality of their students. NMIMS is proud to have both of these factors.

When it comes to tuition fees, it is typical for top-tier PGDM colleges to have similar fees. This can be attributed to the quality of education and resources provided by the NMIMS and Goa Institute of Management for PGDM in finance.

Preparing for the CD PI round is a crucial part because your chances of admission depend on them largely. My answer entails the tips one must adhere to before and during the Case Discussion round.

Before Case Discussion

Be well versed in current affairs, general knowledge and industry trends.

Prepare arguments on some specific topics including both sides of the argument

Prepare concise but concrete points

Mock discussions are the most precise way to prepare for CD

Analyze your own performance relentlessly and keep improving

During Case Discussions

  • During the initial 15 minutes, deliver 2-3 strong points
  • Present the problem in a crisp manner
  • Support your points with real-life examples or that from current affairs. Supporting your own or even others' points through reasoning and examples will get you free points
  • Summarize all the good points given by the others on a sheet of paper to give a nice ending note
  • Give chance to the silent speakers this might impress the panelists
  • Add recommendations and support it with relevant information

Personal Interview

  • Know about yourself like your abilities, strengths, and weaknesses and present it in a good manner
  • Practice the interview with someone and receive feedbacks
  • You should prepare on personal information, education background, work experiences, hobbies, interests, future plans, and current affairs.

Mock CD and PI are extremely important as the advice and feedback received will increase your performance and confidence tremendously.

Coming to the second part of your question, Both colleges have different merit lists. If you don't do well in NM Mumbai rounds, you still stand a chance to convert your NM Bangalore/Hyderabad call, provided you’ve applied for a PGDM course as well.
