If you fail the 1st MB examination in WBUHS, you will need to sit for the supplementary examination, after a gap of 3-6 months. If you pass that, you can continue studying for the next year. If you fail then, you will have to repeat your first year again with the next batch.
But you can easily clear your supplement and also prepare for the 2nd MB examination with some effort.
If you are a student of Haldia Institute of Dental Science and Research then you can find them in the library. At Gurunanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, you can find the previous year’s question papers in the book shops nearby the college. In RADCH or any other Govt. college, you can get the question papers from the student union. If you don’t get them from the union, you can ask your seniors for the questions.
Debasis Pramanik and ABS Mahapatra both are good books. You can choose any of these two books, which you find easy to understand. However, reading these books will not be enough to cover your concepts. Go through Guyton or Ganong to clear your concepts. But read Guyton or Ganong after you finish reading Debasis Pramanik or ABS Mahapatra, otherwise, you will find it difficult to understand.
Don’t buy BDC for Anatomy. You may see many of your batchmates buying it. Your seniors may also suggest BDC. However, BDC has a lot of mistakes and the diagrams are below average.
Comparably, AK Dutta is better. It has better concepts and detailed diagrams. But, Vishram Singh is the best textbook available for Anatomy. In Vishram, the concepts are explained in a better way, there are detailed diagrams. Also, it’s easy to understand for a first-year student. They also covered many Clinical topics related to Anatomy. You can use Vishram as your textbook and consult AK Dutta.
