Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course great. Faculty: student ratio I think it is between 1:20 -1:25. The quality of the study is great. The professors are the best. The teachers are the best and well-qualified. Exams are 3 semesters and one final MB exam which matters most. And you should have a minimum of 75% attendance otherwise you wouldn't be able to write the exams. There are several Quizzes, and CA exams often held. To catch the talent within the students. Exams are not that tough but also not so easy. To pass you have to get a minimum of 50%. In individual papers and practical exams also.

West Bengal University of Health Sciences - [WBUHS]: 5 answered questions

Ques
What happens if one fails in the 1st MB in WBUHS?

● Top Answer By Riddhima Banerjee on 02 Nov 21

Ans
If you fail the 1st MB examination in WBUHS, you will need to sit for the supplementary examination, after a gap of 3-6 months. If you pass that, you can continue studying for the next year. If you fail then, you will have to repeat your first year again with the next batch.  But you can easily clear your supplement and also prepare for the 2nd MB examination with some effort.

Ques
Where can I find the previous year questions for the BDS of WBUHS?

● Top Answer By Sushanta Debnath on 02 Nov 21

Ans
If you are a student of Haldia Institute of Dental Science and Research then you can find them in the library. At Gurunanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, you can find the previous year’s question papers in the book shops nearby the college. In RADCH or any other Govt. college, you can get the question papers from the student union. If you don’t get them from the union, you can ask your seniors for the questions.

Ques
Which one is better to study physiology from, Debasis Pramanik or ABS Mahapatra for a student of WBUHS?

● Top Answer By Sharmistha Roy on 02 Nov 21

Ans
Debasis Pramanik and ABS Mahapatra both are good books. You can choose any of these two books, which you find easy to understand. However, reading these books will not be enough to cover your concepts. Go through Guyton or Ganong to clear your concepts. But read Guyton or Ganong after you finish reading Debasis Pramanik or ABS Mahapatra, otherwise, you will find it difficult to understand.

Ques
Which book should I prefer, AK Dutta or BDC, for anatomy in the 1st year of an MBBS under WBUHS?

● Top Answer By Subhadeep Ghose on 02 Nov 21

Ans
Don’t buy BDC for Anatomy. You may see many of your batchmates buying it. Your seniors may also suggest BDC. However, BDC has a lot of mistakes and the diagrams are below average.  Comparably, AK Dutta is better. It has better concepts and detailed diagrams. But, Vishram Singh is the best textbook available for Anatomy. In Vishram, the concepts are explained in a better way, there are detailed diagrams. Also, it’s easy to understand for a first-year student. They also covered many Clinical topics related to Anatomy. You can use Vishram as your textbook and consult AK Dutta.

How are internal assessment marks calculated in MBBS colleges of West Bengal? In case any student misses any of the semester exams, is he/she debarred from sitting in the university exam held by WBUHS

● Top Answer By Ritika Banerjee on 02 Nov 21

Ans
Yes, semester exams are important for MBBS colleges of West Bengal. Your internal marks will be calculated from these semester examinations. Semesters are important for your personal assessment too. In case, you can’t attend any examination for a serious reason then you will need to take permission from the concerned authorities. They will look after the cause and grant permission.
