Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (UBKV) is a public agricultural university located at Pundibari, West Bengal. UBKV was established in February 1, 2001 and is affiliated to UGC, AICTE and ICAR. The university has five faculties namely Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry which offer selected undergraduate, postgraduate as well as research courses.

Under the Faculty of Technology , the university offers only one programme i.e. B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering to students who have passed 10+2 (HSC) examination. Admission to the B.Tech course is done on the basis of marks secured in WBJEE and also through decentralized counselling in case seats are left vacant after admissions through WBJEE merit list. 

To appear for WBJEE, candidates can register themselves through the official examination website by submitting applications forms online along with the registration fees of Rs. 500/- through Online/ offline payment modes. Eligibility

Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board in regular class mode with the following:

• Individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
• Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/ PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.

For Vacant Seats:

The eligibility of the candidates as per the order of preference is as follows:

• Candidates with WBJEE rank (General Merit Rank in Engineering).
• Candidates with JEE-MAIN  (Engineering & Technology) rank (All India Rank).
• Candidates with JELET rank who have passed Diploma Examination from an AICTE approved Institute with at least 45% marks ( 40% in case of Reserved Category candidates) in Agricultural Engineering.
• Candidates with Engineering Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from an AICTE approved institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved Category candidates)
• Candidates who possess B.Sc degree from a recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Reserved Category candidates) who have passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject.

Admission Process

Selection of the candidate to the B.Tech course is done on the basis of following:

• WBJEE merit list
• Decentralized counselling (For vacant seats)

How To Apply?

In case of appearing for WBJEE:

Candidate must register themselves through the online application process available at the WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) website. The process consists of the following four steps:

• Online filling of application form
• Uploading of necessary documents (Scanned images)
• Submission of application fee (Online/ Offline)
• Confirmation Page

Enclosures (at the time of counselling):

1. Printed Application Form duly signed by the candidate
2. Self attested photocopy of WBJEE/JELET Rank Card (if applicable)
3. Self attested photocopy of age proof document (birth certificate/admit card/ school leaving certificate)
4. Self attested photocopy of marks sheets of Madhyamik (10th), H.S. (10+2) or equivalent examination and all other examinations passed
5. Self attested photocopy of SC/ST certificate (if applicable)
6. Residential certificate from the competent authority

In case of decentralized counselling for vacant seats:

New applicant must create an Account with a valid Email ID as important communication may be communicated to that registered email address. In case of old applicants already registered, candidates can use their Old Login details to apply

Upon filling the application form with relevant information, candidates should upload the given documents in digital form. All scanned copies will be in .jpg format only.

• Passport size photograph of the applicant (Maximum size 20kb)
• Signature of the applicant (Maximum size 20 kb)
• Signature of the guardian (Maximum size 20 kb)

Upon uploading all the documents, candidate should submit his/her final application and take a printout of it for future use.

Note: No application fee is required for final submission of application form. No document has to be sent to the University.
