Burdwan University provides a Bachelor’s in Law stream as its undergraduate course. The course is offered as a full-time course in regular mode. Application forms for admissions are released online. Candidates can visit the official website and apply for the course during the admission period.

The course is offered for a minimum duration of 3 years, i.e, 6 semesters.
Application forms are released in October- November every year.
Basic eligibility is a bachelor's degree with 45% from a recognized institute in relevant discipline.
Final admissions are granted through the Written Admission Test conducted by the university itself.
There is no age limit for admissions.
Seats are also reserved as per BCI norms.

Burdwan University LLB Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions to LLB courses at Burdwan University must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

Candidates must have a valid bachelor’s degree with at least 45% of the total marks under 10+2+3 pattern.
A relaxation of 5% is given to SC/ST category candidates.
Candidates must also appear for the Written Admission Test conducted by the university itself.

Burdwan University LLB Admission Guidelines

Admissions to the LLB program offered by Burdwan University are based on the Admission Test and academic merit of the candidates followed by counselling rounds.

Admission Test conducted shall consist of English and General Knowledge as subjects.
The test shall be of 100 marks.
Roll no for admission test will be issued by the Office of Secretary in the Hall ticket at the time of application form submitted by the candidate.
The rank of the candidates will be made based on the marks obtained in the written test. In case of the uniform score of the candidates in the written test, preference will be given to the candidates having an Honours Degree than Pass Graduates.
Candidates seeking admission against Sports (SP) quota of seats must have to submit certificates for their participation in Inter-State or Inter-University Sports and Athletic competitions (not earlier than Madhyamik level). Candidates who claim reservation against such quota must also personally appear with all the supporting documents in original at the Office Chamber of the Secretary, Faculty Council (Arts etc.).
Final admissions will be done through counselling, the date, time and venue for which will be notified with the publication of the rank list.

- Self-attested photocopies of mark sheets of all the public examinations passed

Burdwan University LLB Course Details

Burdwan University offers an LLB course for three years. Each academic year comprises two semesters.

The total marks of each paper conducted in each semester are 80. Candidates need to pass these papers with minimum valid scores as prescribed by the university for the continuation of their course.
Examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. Evaluation of each semester is based on candidates performance in internal and external examinations.
Candidates who pass with valid scores and complete their coursework as prescribed by the university shall be eligible for the award of degree by the university.

The university has switched to a semester structure since last year. So, improved grades can be expected, with quality education. More than 130 colleges are connected with CU. Not all of them are good. Scottish Church, Bethune, Victoria, St. Pauls, Jaipuria, Vidyasagar, and Maulana Azad are just a few of the famous colleges affiliated with CU. These colleges are available to you. You may expect high-quality education here. You can do the following things during weekends: Visit Burdwan Arcade if you want to do some shopping or go to the movies. There is a science museum and planetarium just opposite the campus. You can give it a visit. If you are looking for food options then Curzon Gate is the best place You can also visit historical monuments or temples around the campus For a picnic or boating experience, visit Sadar Ghat For a fresh morning or evening walk, you can go to Ramanabagan Wildlife Sanctuary. Even Burdwan University asks the same questions again and over. You will have to put in extra effort to do well in academics at both Burdwan University and Calcutta University. I have a few friends who did their MBA from Burdwan University and according to them, the placement is not quite good. However, the tuition structure is extremely reasonable, and the faculties are excellent. Here are brief placement highlights for Burdwan University. Placement average 85% Average CTC INR 3.5 LPA Major recruiters IBM Daksh, Cognizant, HDFC Bank, SBI General Insurance, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Tele-performance, and Concentrix. I have friends from both the University Institute of Technology Burdwan and Techno India Salt Lake, and according to their opinion, the latter is slightly better. Burdwan University: University Institute of Technology, Burdwan is a government-run engineering institute. The university is affiliated with the University of Burdwan and has NBA accreditation. It charges around 71,000 annually. The infrastructure of the institute is good. It has a huge campus. Library, playground, and hostels are on campus. The placement record is average. According to the recent placement highlights the highest CTC offered at the institute is 12-20 LPA, while the lowest stays in the range of 5-6 LPA. The industry exposure you will get on campus is also quite limited. As it is located pretty far away from the major industrial sectors located at Kolkata. Techno India: Techno India Salt Lake is a private college affiliated with WBUT. The total course fee at the institute is around 4.84 lakhs. It does not offer hostel facilities. Additionally, the campus is smaller in size. However, the academic environment at the institute is pretty commendable, unlike many other private engineering colleges. The placement percentage is about 80% to 90%. The average CTC offered is around 4-5 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is 12-14 LPA. The industrial exposure offered is average. It hosts the second-biggest tech fest only following IIT Kharagpur. It is situated in the center of Section V. After having a closer look at all the prospects of both the institutes, it is best to opt for Techno India Salt Lake, as per what has been witnessed recently.
