Ques

Why is the fee of NUJs so high compared to NLSIU and Nalsar?

● Top Answer By Prakash Gupta on 14 Mar 22

Ans
There are no specific reasons as such for the high course fees of NUJS. NUJS Kolkata charges INR 11.49 lakhs for a BALLB (Hons) degree. But people usually don’t question it. Also, most students who attend NUJS can afford the fees. There are a good number of NRIs in each batch. Students from SC, ST categories have many scholarship options to fund their degrees.  Also, NUJS offers great recruitment opportunities. Students from NUJS Kolkata received the highest CTC of INR 22 LPA during the 2021 placement drive. This is also one of the reasons why people don’t question the high course fee.

Ques

What is the average placement package of the top law universities like VIZ NLSIU, NALSAR and NUJS?

● Top Answer By Khushi Sharma on 08 Sept 21

Ans
In the top three law schools, the placement scenes are fantastic.  In terms of placement, WBNUJS has been doing really well. In the past, it has received 100% placement (not inclusive of those who do not sit for placements). The graduating class of 2020 received offers for all 78 participants who participated in the recruitment process. With 30 students taking Day Zero in NALSAR, a total of 28 offers were offered, with 17 being accepted. Last year at NLSIU, 47 final-year students who opted for it were hired by 19 businesses. The average remuneration package was about Rs 18 lakhs. In 2020, 40 job offers were made during NLSIU's day zero recruitment, which set a record. The average salary at each of the top three law schools is nearly identical. Domestic and international firms pay different amounts for traineeships, with the average foreign firm package ranging from INR 38 lakhs to 44 lakhs and the average domestic firm package ranging from INR 8 lakhs to 18 lakhs. Also, it's not only about attending one of the top three law schools; possibilities abound and are available to students from all law schools. If you are dedicated and hardworking, you will find a place at the top.

Ques

What kind of hardships do students suffer in top law colleges like NLSIU, Nalsar or NUJS?

● Top Answer By Shaoni Sengupta, on 25 Oct 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at NUJS. According to her, hardships have varied reasons from academics to personal. The Cases/readings are worth easily 500 pages every day, preparing summaries/case briefs, Tutorials and then projects, presentations, vivas, and the tiring final semesters all comprise the academic hardships. Due to internships, you will miss your vacations. Internships are a temporary glimpse into what life will be like. After getting the grind to excel and to get placed / PPOs, some students suffer from existential crises, emotional upheavals, urge for infinite sabbaticals, etc.  The burden of studies and placements takes a toll on your personal life.  Case briefs become a reason for discord rather than unity.  The healthy competition suddenly gets replaced by a rat race.  Lastly, all the things like hobbies, extra-curricular, etc. disappear. But even after all the hardships, it still is the best time of a student’s life at NLSIU.

Ques

Which is better: Nalsar University of Law or National University of Judicial Sciences (NUJS)?

● Top Answer By Debaditya Banerjee on 08 Sept 21

Ans
The answers to such questions vary from person to person. It depends on the perspectives, interests, and goals of the students. Every institute has its share of pros and cons.  NALSAR University of Law and National University of Judicial Sciences (NUJS) are equally popular institutes. NUJS gives its students ample time for the purpose of exploring themselves and deciding what to make of their lives.  NUJS helps its students to make diverse life choices and even the ones that are unconventional. Categories NALSAR NUJS Course Fee 8.55 lakhs 1.46 lakhs Highest CTC 23 LPA 22 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA 10-12 LPA As of 2021, NALSAR is the third law university only beaten by NLU Delhi and NLSIU Bangalore. In the placement drive of 2020, 120 students received placements. The top recruiters were Linklaters LLP, AZB & Partners, L&L Partners, etc. NUJS Kolkata enjoyed a 100% successful placement drive in 2021. The highest package offered was INR 22 LPA. The students were hired by Khaitan and Co., ICICI, ITC, AZV, etc.
