To apply for CLAT as required for the UG and PG programs, the steps mentioned below should be followed:
- Log on to the official website of CLAT 2020 and register using personal mobile number and email id.
- Log in with the details sent on the mobile number. Fill in the form carefully. Also, fill in preferences for NLUs.
- Upload the required documents.
- Pay the application fee of INR 4000.
Documents Required
- Front-facing passport size recent photograph with a plain background
- Signature of the candidate
- Category certificate if you are applying under SC/ST/OBC
- Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if you are applying if the candidate is P.W.D
- Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if you are coming under BPL category
All documents should be submitted in PDF format only.
The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, to qualify for admission:
- The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST)
- The age of the candidate must not be more than 20 years in case of General and 22 years in case of the SC/ST and PWD Candidates.
- The candidates appearing in or awaiting results of the qualifying examination may also apply and appear for the Combined Law Admission Test (CLAT) provisionally, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed percentage of marks at the time of their interview/counseling.
- The candidature of:
- those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks and or fail to produce result on the date of interview/counseling, or
- those who get compartments/re-appear in any subject in the qualifying examination, shall be cancelled and subsequent securing qualifying marks shall not be considered in any case.
