Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) is the only Open University established in the state of Uttarakhand with the aim to provide distance learning education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It was established by the State Government Act in 2005 and recognized by Distance Education Council (DEC) and UGC.

Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) invites applications to its various courses in two cycles namely: Summer Session and Winter Session.
The application of one session is not valid for another session.
Students can apply either offline or online mode.
In online mode, candidates have to apply at the admission portal of the UOU website whereas in offline mode applications can be obtained from various study centres.
Admissions to all UG and PG courses are done directly on a first come first serve basis.
In case of admissions to MBA and PG Diplomas in Management, aspirants need valid CAT or MAT scores or appear in the entrance test conducted by UOU.
Interested candidates can also apply for PG Diploma courses directly, subject to the availability of seats.
The eligibility criteria for UG courses remain pass in class 12 examination and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline for PG courses.
The seats to eligible candidates will be allotted only after verification of certificates by the concerned authority.
The University provides reservation of seats as per the rules of the State Government.

In case of admissions to B. Yogic Science learners having diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy from UOU may apply directly into second year.
Candidates not having Mathematics at 10+2 level are required to pass one qualifying
Mathematics paper during course of the program.

UOU offers a number of post graduate courses including M.A in eleven subject specializations, M.Sc in three subject Specialization, MCA with lateral entry, Master of Geo Informatics (MGIS) with lateral entry, Master of Information Technology (MSCIT) with lateral entry, M.Com, MSW, LLM, M.A. Journalism & Mass Communication (MAJMC), MHM and MTTM.
To be eligible to apply for PG admission, candidates should have a graduate degree in relevant discipline. Selection of eligible candidates in PG courses is based on first come and first serve subject to verification of credential at University level.

Key Points for PG Admission:

In case of MCA and MSCIT candidates not having Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation will have to pass one qualifying Mathematics paper.
For admission into LLM reserved category candidates are given 5% relaxation.
Some courses follow semester system while others are based annual examination system.

Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) MBA and PG Diploma Admission 2023

The university also offers Post Graduate Diplomas in various specializations. Minimum eligibility requirement is to have a graduate degree. Admissions to the PGDs are primarily done on first come first serve basis.

The university also offers professional courses viz. MBA and PGDM in Marketing and HR. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of reserved category candidates). Admission to which is conducted either through national level entrance tests like CAT or MAT or entrance test conducted by the university.

Uttarakhand Open University (UOU) Application Process 2023

Applications are invited for summer and winter session where candidates have the option of applying in both online and offline mode. Candidates must follow the given directives to submit an application form successfully.

Online Mode:

Applicants are requested to read the instructions carefully provided on the online admission portal before making an application.
Candidates are advised to keep ready scanned copies of the given documents before filling the Online Admission Form:

4. 12th Mark sheet/Certificate

6. Self-declaration form duly filled and signed by the candidate.
Proceed to fill in the necessary data in the online application form carefully.
The cost of application form is INR 250 and INR 250 extra will be charged for late submission.
Aspirants applying for MBA and PG Diploma courses in management have to pay IINR 1000 for entrance exam.
In online mode fee can be paid through the payment gateway (debit/credit card or Net Banking).
Candidates can also pay in offline mode via BOB/SBI Bank Challan.
Take a print out of the application form and submit it to the study center along with testimonials.

Offline Mode:

The prospectus along with application form can also be obtained from the concerned Study Centers or the University Headquarters by paying the requisite fee.
Applicants shall enclose the self-attested photocopies of their original document and a signed certificate in the given format.
