The least eligibility requirement for admission is graduates with a B.Tech/B.E. or any masters degree.
The accessible admission criteria for Regular HTRA and NON-HTRA admissions are to be retained. For HTRA, the applicant needs to qualify in GATE or to any of the permitted National qualifying exams eligible for the scholarship. At the time of accepting the purpose of admission, CGPA over or equal to 8.0 CGPA for graduates from centrally funded technical institutions (including IITM) is required for waiving the constraint of qualifying in National level examinations. Under the NON-HTRA category, anybody with a B.Tech. or postgraduate degree can apply.

Eligible applicants possessing the least educational qualifications and satisfying supplementary and stiffer criteria laid down by the departments from time to time are called for “test and interview” or “interview” by the Selection Committees of the particular departments. For applicants who have obtained Post Graduation degree 10 years earlier as on the final date approved for receipt of the completed application, a departmental test is conducted. The applications of foreign nationals may be considered not including a personal interview/test.
Based on the academic verification and the performance of the applicants in the interview and/or test, the Departmental Selection Committee recommends to the Chairman, Legislature the names of applicants found appropriate for admission to the M.S. program.

Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview by the Selection Committees of the particular departments. Suggestion on “interview” representative the date, time & venue will be provided by the respective Departments via email to the shortlisted applicants.

Ans. For the External or Part-time Category, the 1-semester residential requirement is obligatory to do course work.
