The cut for BBA at Ravenshaw University varies around 80% for the first round and further decreases with the number of seats available.
I hope you score well and above 80% so that you get selected in the first round itself or else you may wait till third.
To pursue UG courses, Ravenshaw University is one of the best options. Ravenshaw is one of the oldest and premier institutions in Odisha and currently it is at the top in Odisha for providing UG courses. The infrastructure of this university is very beautiful and all the departments of this university are well designed to give a nice atmosphere to the students to study and create a learning environment.
However, if you are talking about postgraduate courses, then it is not wise to compare the institute as a whole. Rather it will be better to find out about the course you are interested in. Look for lecturer profiles, field exposure, course studies, etc.
One of my friends studied at Ravenshaw University. According to him, being a private university is actually moderate when everything is considered. Let me discuss a few points in detail for a better perspective.
There are few things which you should know if you are in first year so that you can make the right decision as per the situation.
Remember that time is the most important thing in life. Don’t waste it. The decision you will make now will decide your life and future prospects. Enjoy but make good use of the opportunities you get.
In Ravenshaw University there are a total of 13 hostels. There are 6 hostels named East, New PG, New Dhammapada, Lalitgiri, Jagannath Chhatrabasa for the boys, and 7 hostels named Bhargabi, Debi, Daya, Kathajodi, Mahanadi, Parija, Wes for the girls.
So, there are many hostels available for both boys and girls and all the basic facilities are being provided at these hostels so that the students can study peacefully.
One of my friends studied at Ravenshaw University. According to him, the cut-off always varies between 83%-87%.
There are a few reasons for its variation which he mentioned and I would like to discuss with you:
Rank for B.Sc. (Science) (1st Counselling) |
1-500 |
Rank for B.Sc. (Science) (2nd Counselling) |
501-1000 |
B.Sc. Geology Intake |
48 |
The cut-off may vary yearly but if you really want Geology then work hard and make sure you get a good percent in +2. You can get into one of the few institutes which offer geology.
One of my friends studied at Ravenshaw University. According to him, here are some of the facts about it you should know.
Other than academics, Ravenshaw also looks after the holistic development of the students. The infrastructure is well maintained. Hostels are clean and the food provided is hygienic. Many cultural events and fests also take place. Overall, it is a really good college.
Ravenshaw University is a very popular university and during the weekends, there are a lot of activities and stuff to do for the students. Here are some of the things which you can do during your weekends.
So, you can do a lot of activities while studying at Ravenshaw University during your weekends to explore and learn new things about the place.
Admission to Ravenshaw University (RU) is done purely on a merit basis. Your scores in class 10+2 examinations will determine your selection.
First, fill-up the form and wait for the merit list. If you are selected in the first round, you will be needed to submit the documents with a demand draft of the amount mentioned.
If you are in the waiting list then also you will have to come to the college to submit the demand draft, showing your interest in taking admission. If you do not get selected, your draft will be returned.
The cut-off marks usually change, so nothing could be said for sure. To get some idea about it you can check the previous year's cut off marks in the admission brochure.
I have a few friends from Ravenshaw University and according to them, for M.Sc Science subjects like PCMB, there are no placements. You will have to seek job opportunities on your own. But for other streams, some recruiting companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit the campus. For management subjects also, you will get decent placement opportunities in the campus drive.
According to the recent placement highlights, the overall placement average for Ravenshaw was 70%. The average and highest CTC offered in the placement was 12 LPA and 6 LPA.
Yes, there are students who fail to complete graduation within 3 years. This happens only because of two reasons. Either they failed to attend the exam or they never studied for the exam.
The courses here are very organic and subject-oriented. The faculty members are well experienced and are ready to guide you in every way. You don't even have to enroll in any coaching centers to pass the exams, as the lectures are appropriate and enough for that. If you regularly go through your classwork it becomes much easier to score in Ravenshaw University (RU).
Make sure to have 75% attendance at RU, if this is not maintained sitting for your exams will also become problematic.
