Course Description

KIIT University has released KIITEE 2022 application form on December 10 for M.Tech admission 2022. Candidates can apply for the same by visiting the official website of the university. KIITEE 2022 exam dates will be announced soon. Candidates are advised to keep visiting the official website for regular updates.

Also, GATE 2022 exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 5, 6, 12, 13, 2022. Candidates who registered for the entrance exam will be able to download the admit card from January 3, 2022. Results for the same will be declared on March 17, 2022.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is one of the leading self-financed institutions in the state of Orissa. The institute currently offers M.Tech courses in 17 Specializations across five streams.

The M.Tech courses at KIIT are currently offered by five streams. These are Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
The basic eligibility is a first-class B.Tech degree.

Eligibility Criteria for KIIT University M.Tech

The minimum eligibility for admission to the M.Tech programs of the university is a first-class B.E or B.Tech degree from a recognized institution.

Students who have B.Tech equivalent qualifications such as AMIE, GRADE-IETE are also eligible to apply.
M.Sc and MCA qualified students are also eligible to apply provided they have a first-class degree.
The qualifying degree must also be relevant to the subject the candidate wishes to pursue at KIIT.

KIIT University M.Tech Selection Criteria

The admission to the various M.Tech programs of KIIT is through the KIITEE examination arranged by the institution.
Students who have a valid gate score will be given preference for admission. Candidates with a GATE score of more than 400 will be exempted from writing the KIITEE.

KIIT University M.Tech Course Details

Five departments of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology offer as many as seventeen specializations in M.Tech.
The M.Tech course is two years in length and divided into four semesters.
The first two semesters consist of theoretical coursework and practicals. In the last two semesters, students are expected to be engaged in a research project and submit a thesis at the end of the fourth semester.

The semester fee for the M.Tech courses at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is INR 1,17,000. In admission to this, students must pay the sum of INR 75,000 at the time of admission towards counseling, registration, admission kit, blazer, and laptop.

Ques. How is the library for KIIT University M.Tech students?

Ans. The library at KIIT has a gigantic collection of over 10,18,434 physical books. The library subscribes to 718 prominent Indian and foreign journals, 67 subscribed magazines and 27 newspapers. Students can access the library resources online remotely using RemoteXs.

Ques. Are hostel facilities available for the M.Tech students of KIIT University?

Ans. There are separate hostels for boys and girls and about 30% of them have air conditioning facilities. The hostels are also equipped with 24-hour reading rooms, indoor and outdoor games facilities, and round the clock internet services. The kitchens strictly follow hygiene protocols and the dining hall serves good quality food. The seat rent per semester for the Non-AC hostels range between 28,000-40,000 and AC hostels between 50,000-65,000.

Ques. What are the refund policies of KIIT?

Ans. Students can obtain a full refund of all the fees paid to KIIT excluding the counseling fee if they make a refund claim just after taking admission. If the student fails to claim a refund before the physical reporting at the university, no refund will be made. The request for withdrawal must be made online using the official application format available at the institute website.

Ques. What are some of the facilities available at the KIIT campus?

Ans. The campus of KIIT is equipped with world-class infrastructure. The Central Convention Center can host as many as 1600 participants at a time. There are a number of conference halls and open-air theaters, multiple indoor and outdoor stadiums and sporting complexes, medical facilities. All other necessary services such as banks, post office, police station, railway ticket counter, and ATMs are present inside the campus.

Ans. The complete counseling process of KIITEE for M.Tech courses is done online. The following scanned documents are required to be submitted during this process.

However, there is no ethernet port. In contrast, the university does not also provide any LAN connection, so you eventually do not need the ethernet port anyway.

The laptops provided to the students do not usually come with a ThinkPad pro stylus when they generally should. In the case of gaming, they work seamlessly. Thus, it should not be an issue to be concerned about.

Do companies like Google,Apple, Microsoft and Facebook hire students from institutes like BITS, VIT or KIIT?

Yes, companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook hire students from BITS, VIT, or KIIT. In fact, they hire from colleges all across the country. These companies are all for skills. If you have the required skill set, you can get interview calls from these companies. If you belong to some IIT, you will certainly have some advantage over the others.

How are the Day 0 placements going on at KIIT? How many companies will visit during Day 1, and what are the packages?

KIIT SOM has a strong alumni network of 5000+ with many on the CxO level in big corporations. A few of my friends studied there and here’s what I got to know from them:

The institute carries “Day Zero” dream campus drives to place students.
Already 38 companies visited the campus. A few students have already received their offers from some of the reputed companies.
However, the institute announced that 150+ companies are to visit the campus on day zero.
Some "day zero" recruiters that came to campus are Autodesk, Amazon, Reliance, Quikr, Novartis, Nutanix, Informatica, VMware, Endurance International, and ZS Associates.
The packages offered by these companies are above INR 7 LPA.
Out of these, Nutanix recruited a student at INR 18 LPA.
However, the drive will continue till September. So, many opportunities are in queue for the students.
The companies like PwC, Nissan, Philips, TATA Tech, High Radius, and others will offer promising packages of over INR 6 LPA.
CSE students usually get an opportunity to sit for an interview in every company.

Overall, KIIT SOM students can climb to great heights if they are hardworking and persistent, as the institute provides many opportunities to grow and get placed.

KIIT Bhubaneswar selection procedure is through. Admissions are either based on entrance examination performance or merit. For B.Tech KIIT selects students based on their KIITEE scores.

Overall, KIIT is a good college and offers ample opportunities for personal development. It offers decent facilities. Many reputed companies visit KIIT placements. The average CTC offered during KIIT placements 2022 was INR 6.05 LPA.

If you are considering Amity University, Noida for Engineering, it is recommended that you do not enroll there. According to students who completed their bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from there, it's a pathetic place to study. They claim that the quality of teaching is very poor, research is nil, and fees are too high. They highly recommend that you join KIIT, Bhubaneswar for a B.Tech, rather than Amity University, Noida.

Based on their experience, they believe that anyone who recommends Amity is either lying or trying to get a commission from you. Therefore, it's advised that you look into other options and do your research before making a decision on where to pursue your engineering degree.

One of my immediate relatives was a part of KIIT Bhubaneswar, and here is his insight regarding the campus placement of 2020.

He mentioned that the campus placement of KIIT BHubaneswar is reasonably good. Several of his batchmates, alongside him, are currently placed at multiple top firms over and around the country.

The recruiting companies were ZS, IBM, MU Sigma, etc. The average and highest CTC offered were 6 LPA and 30 LPA respectively. More than 195 recruiters visited the campus and a total of 3156 students got placed. 1200 students received multiple job offers.

Which is better: KIIT University or Heritage Institute of Technology?

KIIT has more dominance in the educational sector than that of Heritage Institute of Technology due to several reasons. Both of them are private institutions, but KIIT has more tie-ups with universities abroad for special programs than Heritage.

When speaking about education we have to keep the factors of Fees, Alumni, and Placements, etc. KIIT has emerged with great colors when compared to Heritage in almost all the stats.

KIIT has a better infrastructure and campus overall. My labs are exquisitely made and well designed.
