Ques
Which is better, SCB or AIIMS Bhubaneswar?

● Top Answer By Harsha Bose, on 28 Oct 21

Ans
AIIMS Bhubaneswar is considered better in the following areas: It has a better student-faculty ratio.  The campus has newly established buildings, hostels, gyms, sports grounds, etc.  AIIMS Bhubaneswar gives more importance to the research. The college completes the course in time. It also has a brand tag with consistently good results in post-graduation.  Bhubaneswar offers a better city life compared to Cuttack. The student crowd is very competitive because top rankers from all the states come here and they have no State reservation. The reasons for SCB being better are: It is one of the oldest medical colleges in the country with the best faculty and a strong alumni network. It has the largest medical library with a separate library for UG and PG students.  More than 3000 patients attend the OPD daily. Many patients are being referred from AIIMS BBSR to SCB also. Hence exposure to patients is huge. The cricket ground is maintained by OCA, Basketball court, badminton court, swimming pool, indoor games facility and gym are very good. New hostels are provided, AC classrooms have been set up too. These are some of the facts that you should know about both institutions. The decision of choosing the college depends completely on you. Choose the one that suits your requirements.

Ques
How is life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar?

● Top Answer By Harshita Bose, on 27 Oct 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. According to her, it had a really enthusiastic crowd and an atmosphere appropriate for education.  Every department has great coordination among them.  You will be taught 3 subjects in the first year: Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The food provided by the mess is of average quality, but you will get used to it. It is comparatively affordable. For now, OPDs are closed, hence only emergency cases are being taken up. Therefore, workload was on the lighter side. For MBBS students, there are 3 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels.  Security is very strict in the campus A volleyball court, a football court, a cricket field, 2 badminton courts & 2 TT boards comprise the sports facilities at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Overall, the campus is huge and campus life is amazing. AIIMS Bhubaneswar also has various unique facilities such as Body donation, Embalming, Cold storage facilities, and Organ donation.

Ques
Which is better: Maulana Azad Medical College, AIIMS Bhubaneswar or Bhopal?

● Top Answer By Hrishita Das, on 22 Nov 21

Ans
Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is definitely better than every other AIIMS. Though there are chances for AIIMS to grow in the next 3-5 years. But opting AIIMS over MAMC is really not recommended. MAMC has a huge patient load. But you need to remember that a huge influx of patients does not mean a huge amount of knowledge but it means more commotion. AIIMS are made to be tertiary care centers and to receive rare and quality cases. Hence the patient inflow is low. MAMC has PG reservations, which are yet to start at AIIMS. MAMC also gets the locational advantage, being in the heart of the city. The batch size here is huge, about 250, which sometimes becomes problematic. They have a better and more experienced faculty than AIIMS. Due to the pandemic clinical classes are held in the seminar rooms with just 10 students and a faculty. This lets the students interact with the teacher properly. A small group of students is also easier to manage by a teacher. Also the best thing about MAMC is its fees. It is much less than that of AIIMS. An MBBS course is around INR 11,000 at MAMC. MAMC being a more older and experienced institution has provided its students with some of the best opportunities. But that does not mean that AIIMS is lagging behind. As it is also growing and providing students with the appropriate amount of exposure.

Ques
How was your first year AIIMS Bhubaneswar experience?

● Top Answer By Ruchi Datta, on 28 Oct 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Let me share his experience during his first year. This will give you a clear idea. Entering college will be an exciting experience in itself. Interaction with seniors stabilized gradually.  The Freshers party was also organized by the seniors. Try making your friend circle bigger. Make as many connections as possible as it will help you in networking. The subjects - Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology will prove to be the most interesting. In Anatomy, the gloves, scalpel, and cadaver will be your companions. Your first year will be supersaturated with enjoyment, love, discipline and you will make loads of memories. You will realize that getting admission here at AIIMS Bhubaneswar is one of your best decisions.
