JEE Main 2025 Exam Date | Jan 25, 2025 - Jan 31, 2025 |
One of my friends studied at Mizoram University (MZU). According to him, it is not a good choice to opt for MZU to pursue engineering.
Here are some reasons why:
Therefore, it is suggested that you do not opt for MZU to study engineering, because it will not be worthwhile. As you will learn less and even fall out of job opportunities.
One of my cousins is a recent alumnus of Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT), and as per what he defines, it is best that you join it rather than going at Mizoram University.
Following are the reasons for choosing HIT:
Categories | ECE at Heritage Institute of Technology |
Course Fee | 4.04 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 80-90% |
Highest CTC | 16-18 LPA |
Average CTC | 8-9 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Accenture, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, HP, etc. |
However, before diving into conclusion, it is best that you research more deeply about the prospects both institutes share and determine which is best to go for, at the end of the day.
Firstly, there is no CSE department in Mizoram University. The department they have is Computer Engineering (CE) and not Computer Science Engineering.
The CE department has an intake capacity of 30 students. Out of 30 intake, 15 students are taken through JEE main and 15 students are taken through MZUEEE (Mizoram University Engineering Entrance Examination).
There are 3 computer labs with 30+ computers. All classrooms are equipped with ICT facilities.
Categories | CE at Mizoram University |
Course Fee | INR 6.85 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 50-60% |
Highest CTC | 10 LPA |
Average CTC | 3-5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, etc. |
Their focus is to impart quality education in theories and practical knowledge. The students will gain industrial exposure through seminars, industry visits and internships conducted by the institution. Thus, CE at MZU will be a good choice.
Mizoram University is a central university under the UGC, Government of India. The university is dominated by greenery and also has a biodiversity park.
The Students Council of the University (MZU-SC) is primarily responsible for building and preserving a healthy political culture in the campus.
They have 4 girls' hostels with one more under construction. They have a capacity of about 100+ girls. There are 7 units of a boys' Hostel with a capacity of 100+ students available. One more building is under construction. The campus also has a University Guesthouse for guests and students. There is also a Church inside the campus.
There are 9 Schools functioning in the campus. These include: The School of Economics, Management and Information Sciences, Earth Sciences and Natural Resources Management, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Education and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Fine Arts, Architecture and Fashion and lastly, the School of Medical and Paramedical.
According to the reviews by the students online, they are more or less satisfied with the university. They have a diverse student crowd with students from all backgrounds and cultures.
The Aizawl district is a bit costly for living, but the overall ambience is really good. You will get to see picturesque hills from the college, which is definitely soothing. So, overall it is a decent choice to study at MZU.
According to the reviews online, it is suggested that you check the detailed curriculum of the course and its collaboration with the industry. This will tell you if hands-on learning opportunities are possible along with frequent visits from industry experts.
Digital marketing has a huge demand nowadays. Lots of companies are trying to harness the power of Social Media to improve their business, sales, brand image and customer retention.
Digital Marketing is a very good choice for a professional course, companies like Google also run short term certification courses on Digital Marketing.
Check if the faculty is also equipped with the proper background of Digital Marketing. If all these check out, you can then opt for this program.
Read books by Drayton Bird on Digital marketing, Armstrong on Persuasive marketing, Gary Halbert letters and Million Dollar Mailing by Denny Hatch. Get practical experience by working with a company in retail sales or B-B sales.
M.Tech in the Mizoram university is very new and will take a bit to settle, so the placement is not quite good.
The students collaborate with NIT Mizoram students to send the companies so that the process of placement could be completed. But the package they offer is not at all satisfying for the students.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has started M.Tech. and Ph.D. Programme from academic session 2017-18. Along with this 2 more M.Tech. programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Power and Energy Systems Engineering; Ph.D. programme in Electrical Engineering started their academic sessions from the year 2018-19.
The placements will take time to improve but currently it is average, so if you prefer self learning and training only then opt for MZU, otherwise go for more experienced colleges.
Among both these institutes it will be better if you go for ECE at Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) than CE at Mizoram University (MZU).
Categories | ECE at Heritage Institute of Technology | CE at Mizoram University |
Course Fee | INR 4.04 LPA | INR 6.85 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 70-80% | 50-60% |
Highest CTC | 28 LPA | 10 LPA |
Average CTC | 8-10 LPA | 3-5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, HCL, etc. | TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, etc. |
Therefore, as HIT provides such better opportunities for students it is recommended that you go for it rather than choosing MZU.
