Shivaji university PhD admissions 2023-24 are going to begin soon. The notification for the application process will be released in June 2023. The admission will be based on the PhD entrance exam and the interview round conducted by the university. The PhD entrance exam application will tentatively be open by July 2023. The exam will be conducted by August/September 2023. The results will be announced by the last week of October 2023 tentatively.

Shivaji university PhD program is a 3-year full-time program. The university offers PhD programs in 120 specializations. All admissions will be processed through the (Department Research Committee/Central Research Committee). For candidate selection, a weightage of 70% will be given to the entrance test and 30% to performance in the interview/viva-voce. Eligibility: Candidates are required to have done a Master’s degree in arts/commerce or M.Sc./B.Tech in relevant specialization from any recognized University to be eligible for the M.Phil. Program.

Shivaji University Ph.D Admission Process 2022

• Selection to Ph.D. and M.Phil courses are made on the basis of Entrance test followed by an interview. The question paper of Entrance test will contain 50 MCQs of 2 marks each.  The duration of the exam will be of one and half hour.
• Examination is conducted in both online and offline mode. The pattern for the entrance test will be strictly based on the syllabus of the post graduation program.
• On the basis of this entrance test, a merit list will be prepared for conducting the interview. In interview, candidates are required to discuss the area of research.
• A final merit list will be prepared for selection on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam, entrance test and interview. 50% marks of qualifying exam, 40% marks of entrance test and 10% of the interview will be considered to form a merit list for selecting candidates.

NOTE:

1. Candidates who have qualified GATE /UGC-CSIR-NET / SLET / SET /P.G.D.T.E./ BET/GPAT are exempted from appearing in the entrance test and they only need to appear in the interview.
2. Candidates who want to do research in engineering and technology, entrance test pattern for them will be based on GATE syllabus.

Scholarships:

• Apart from the different schemes for scholarships provided by the government authorities, University has its own provision to provide scholarship to deserving candidates. 
• University releases about 500 scholarships of INR 5000 and INR 10000 which is given to deserving candidates enrolled with the University under the scheme of Shivaji University Merit Scholarship Scheme (SUMS).

How To Apply?

• Application forms for M.Phill and Ph.D programs are available in online mode only.
• Entrance examination fee for each subject is INR 200 which is to be submitted in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
• Filled in application form along with the Demand Draft is to be submitted to the concerned department either by post/courier or by person.
• Candidates can also avail the copy of course directory by paying a sum of INR 100 to the University in form of cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Key Notes

• If there are less than 10 candidates allotted to an examination center then that center is subjected to cancellation and information regarding this will be made available on the University website.
• Applications are accepted after the last date of submission with a late fee of INR 100.
• There is also a provision to the accepted application form with a super late fee of INR 500.

• If the course directory is demanded through post then a sum of INR 30 extra is to be paid by the candidates.
