This is a question that almost every law school aspirants ask. There is no clear winner in this comparison. Below are some aspects of both the institutes. Based on these you can make a better choice.

  • Being established recently, GNLU offers better infrastructure. Both campuses are at a respectable distance from the city. You won’t have any problem communicating. At GNLU, you will have the option to do a running internship as it is located close to GIFT city, a proposed Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Both institutes receive substantial funds from their respective state govt.
  • The student crowd at NLUs and GNLU is almost the same. There is only a difference of 2-3 marks in the required cutoff of these NLUs.
  • The administration of GNLU is supportive in a lot of ways. But there aren’t many co-curricular activities. The institute even received heavy criticism regarding this.
  • The teaching quality at GNLU and NLIU Bhopal is almost the same
  • According to the GNLU placements, students receive an average CTC of INR 15 LPA. It offers more tier 1 placement compared to NLIU Bhopal.
  • For NLIU, the median CTC for the BALLB course is INR 14 LPA

So, both GNLU and NLIU Bhopal will offer you similar opportunities. If you choose one over the other, you won’t miss out on much. While choosing one of these, you should also consider the distance of the institute from your home.

Between NLIU Bhopal and NLUJ, the latter is slightly better in terms of certain parameters.

  • NLIU Bhopal has a better reputation. It was established only 2 years before NLUJ, but it has a better alumni base. It also enjoys a locational advantage, as it is located in the same city as National Judicial Academy.
  • NLU Jodhpur has more rigorous academics and a better faculty pool.
  • As per the recent NLU J placement statistics, it offers better salary packages to the students. It is also better in terms of Moot performance. In the past, students from NLUJ have won a few national moots

If you want to pursue Judicial Services, Civil Services, Litigation, or LLM later on then NLU J is the better choice.

NLIU Bhopal doesn’t offer placements. Various recruiting companies visit the campus placement and hire candidates of their choice. The placement package depends on your skills and CV. 36 LPA is highly unlikely to receive. As par NLIU Bhopal placement highlights, the median CTC offered to BA LLB students is INR 14 LPA. For 2 year PG courses, the median CTC is INR 6 LPA

NLIU Bhopal offers decent hostel accommodation. They offer all the basic amenities.

The rooms are spacious and well-maintained. You need to clean your rooms regularly, during your stay. The washrooms are hygienic and well-maintained.

Although, there’s a slight problem with bugs at NLIU Bhopal Hostel. You will find lots of them everywhere. This is something that you need to get used to.
