Pondicherry University's campus is extremely student-friendly, with free wifi available 24 hours a day and clean female hostels. It has the most extensive library. There is a free bus service on campus, as well as a shopping complex and other amenities. Paperwork and administrative tasks are also completed on time. Pondicherry is also a lovely location. You receive all of the advantages of studying at a Central University.
The syllabus at Calicut University which is a state university is excellent, but administrative support is lacking. Your certificates will not arrive on time. And the first-semester end exam will be held during the second semester's end, which is extremely complicated. Calicut University has a good campus, as well as a good library.
If you have failed or not attained the expected marks you can always apply for a revaluation paper. One of my friends failed an exam and after applying for revaluation got an A grade. However, the entire situation affected his placement procedure.
The exam schedule and results are disorganized at Calicut University.
The 1st sem exam will be held in the 3rd sem, 2nd sem exam in 4th sem, 3rd sem after two months of 2nd sem exam, 4th sem exam in 5th sem and the rest of the exams will be on time. Lastly, the consolidated certificate will be granted on time but the original certificate will take a lot of time.
You can calculate the index marks for PG admissions at Calicut university by following the below-mentioned simple steps:
Score/Grade obtained in Degree Examination
If the admission is based on an entrance exam then the weightage is 50-50 ( 50% marks obtained in Degree Examinations + 50% marks obtained in the entrance exam.)
If you have completed your degree under CALICUT UNIVERSITY you get a bonus of 5.
If you have worked in the Illiteracy Eradication Programme for 1 year, you get a bonus of 5.
if you were an N.C.C cadet (75% Attendance)/ N.S.S. Volunteer (240 hours), you get a bonus of 5.
If you have an NCC A/B/C certificate you will get a bonus of 3/5/10 respectively.
if you have cleared the Compulsory Social Service Programme, you get a bonus of 10.
If you have needed more than 2 chances to clear your qualifying exam, you get a Minus 10.
These simple steps will help you calculate your index marks for PG admissions at Calicut University.
Calicut University has worth, which is why it is still in running. Some students enter college and, after a year, succumb to depression due to personal reasons, despite having been good students in the school with over 85% marks. Nonetheless, they fail in a few semesters.
Exams are not held on time, and results are not delivered on time. Only book nerds find it easy to pass with passing grades. This university is not thought to be for the underprivileged. You simply must be patient and work extremely hard to avoid becoming trapped in such a situation. Studying one or two weeks before an exam will not help in any way.
It is determined by the number of seats available at the college. Calicut University does not conduct exams properly, and your grades will not be corrected. This means that the student who studies the best in class and the student who did not study for the exam get nearly the same grade.
The university doesn't even properly correct the papers. It's also evident in newspaper articles about the majority of students failing a university exam. Your semester exams will be held on an irregular basis. That is, if you are in the third semester, you may write for the first semester.
Furthermore, if you fail at some point in the third semester and all of the other semesters succeed, it will take years for you to pass the exam because the supplementary exam is not given frequently.
At Calicut University, to be eligible to apply for a post-graduate course, one must have completed the undergraduate course and provide proof of completion in the form of a Degree Certificate. A Provisional Certificate would suffice as well.
If you are awaiting the results of the Supplementary exams, you will be unable to produce the Degree Certificate and thus will be ineligible to apply. This is based on the assumption that Supplementary Exams indicate that you did not pass a specific paper.
However, if the exams are Improvement Exams, the situation is different.
Buses are more frequent than trains and you can get down right at the University Bus Stop. On a normal day with minimal traffic it takes around 3-4 hours.
Private Bus- not safe (Cost INR 90-95)
KSRTC buses- safe but not comfortable (Cost- INR 100)
AC Volvo buses- comfortable but expensive (Cost- INR 200)
Trains are delayed and less frequent than buses. You will have to get down at Parappanangadi, or at Calicut, and then take a bus to the University.
Express trains- INR 50
Superfast- INR 65
Passenger- INR 25
At 8.10 AM, there is the Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity Express that one can board. It reaches Parappanangadi between 10 and 10.30 AM. There’s also the Pune SF/ Lokamanya Tilak/ Nizamuddin SF at 6.20 AM from Thrissur. So you will have to get down at Tirur and Calicut. A third option is the Cannanore Passenger that starts from Thrissur at 5.55 AM. As it is too early, it’s suitable for people who are cutting down on expenses.
At Calicut University, you have five years to finish your degree, and after paying the fine, you can write your supplementary exams. If you have a supplementary in one of the two other subjects, or both, you will have to work much harder because they are very strict.
You must be neat, practice a lot, and work on your writing skills. It all comes down to presentation. Have a good copy. Please don't cross things out too frequently, because if you already have a supplementary, chances are you'll get one again if you don't do it neatly.
You must apply in the prescribed format, including the Syllabus, Degree Certificate, and other required documents.
You must apply online to the University of Calicut.
