Admission to the UG courses (except for BTech, B.Arch, BPA, BFA, and BPEd courses) is conducted through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. As one of my friends was a student at University of Kerala, let me mention some of the facts you should keep in mind during your first year.
- Stick to the syllabus and thoroughly read it. Mark the ones out of the syllabus, as attempting them can fetch you some marks.
- Try to take part in extracurricular activities. Join NCC/NSS if you have an option.
- Always try to be on good terms with the faculty members, as they control the internal exam marks.
- Accept the fact that results are not published on time.
- Make sure you have a 90% attendance, as 5 marks are added to your result for it.
- It is better if you refrain from student politics as they could be very time-consuming and distracting.
- Do not rely on teachers to complete the syllabus, in the end, you have to study and complete it.
It is recommended that you get your degree from any private university. Though it will cost much, you will get enough exposure to mold your career in shape.
