Sri Devaraj Urs University (SDUU), Karnataka offers various medical courses at UG, PG & doctoral levels. The college offers MBBS, B.Sc, BPT, BEMT, BASLP, Integrated B.Sc & M.Sc., M.Sc., MPH, MS, MD, Ph.D & a Fellowship program.

Admission is entrance based for medicine related courses. While admission is merit based for Allied Health Sciences courses except for Ph.D. which is in both cases an entrance based course. Details of admission to SDUU have been elaborated below:

MBBS admissions are based on scores in NEET UG along with scores in 10+2 with PCB.
For M.D and M.S admissions students are selected on the basis of NEET PG scores along with scores in MBBS with a year of internship.
Ph.D admissions are based on entrance conducted by SDUU. Only those who do not have scores in UGC-NET or JRF or SET.
For programs like B.Sc, BPT, BASPL, M.Sc, MPH admissions are merit based, that is scores obtained in the previous qualifying exam.

SDUU was established in 1986 by Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust with a focus on provisioning of medical education and social services.

SDUU MBBS Admission 2023

The MBBS program is offered to those who have the following given eligibility criteria:

The candidate must have attained the age of 17 while applying for admission.

Selection Criteria

The students are selected solely on the basis of merit of NEET UG examination.

After the result declaration of NEET examination, national level counselling is held for the students.
After counselling, the students are alloted seats on basis of the merit obtained.
Students who qualified NEET are eligible for the counselling.
Applicants can fill many options as per requirement in decreasing order.
In total, 3 rounds of counselling are held for admissions.
Finally, an acceptance fee must be paid for accepting the seat provisionally.

Under the fellowship program,only one specialization is offered, i.e., Head and Neck surgical Oncology. Moreover, the number of seats offered are also limited.

A Ph.D in various courses with various specializations is offered. The students have the option to choose between being an in-service student or an external student.

Eligibility Criteria

Master of Science in related discipline from faculty of Medicine with 55% in aggregate from a recognized University on a regular basis.

Selection Criteria

Selection of students for the Ph.D program is done on the basis of the entrance exam which is conducted by the college itself.
The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of Research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
- The related syllabus shall be notified in advance in the website.
- The marks at the qualifying examination shall be 50%.
- Maximum weightage (70%) shall be given to the written test and 30% to the interview.
Students with valid scores in UGC-NET or JRF or SET are exempted from appearing for the internal entrance examination.

How to apply for SDUU?

The application mode for admission into SDUU is offline based, the application form for which is to be downloaded from the official website of the college.

Procedure for application:

Visit the official website of the university and click on the link given for admission.
From the information brochure, download the application form , fill in the information and affix a passport size photograph.
Issue a DD in the favour of “ The Registrar, SDUU” payable at Kolar. After attaching it with the duly filled application form and other documents, send it to :

Use an A4 size envelope to send the application form which must be super scribed with “ Application for admission to courses under Medical Faculty”.
The filled-in application form along with the documents can also be submitted in person in the office of the registrar.
The application fee is INR 500 for UG courses and INR 1500 for PG courses.

Ques. Can I pay the fees in installments?

Ans. All the information related to fees is provided by the university itself. So for any query related to fees, one is advised to visit the official website of the university.

Ques. Merit of which exam is considered for admission into SDUU?

Ans. For M.B.B.S and MD/MS courses, merit of NEET-UG and NEET-PG are considered respectively. For all other courses like Ph.D and Allied Health and Basic Science, the institute conducts its own entrance exam and the score obtained in it is considered for admission.

Ques. Which facilities are available in the college?
