One of my friends studying there said that even a University like Manipal has a limited number of seats. Popular courses like CSE, ECE, and EE have more than 250 seats. Other than that, only 60-130 seats are available for other branches.

  • For the year 2020 Manipal University saw an increase in the admission process.
  • The maximum number of seats in a branch are around 350. These are some of the more “in-demand” branches such as CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical.
  • Other branches have seats ranging from 100–250 seats.
  • Overall, there are about 2500-3000 seats for the batch of 2024 (Passout year). It might increase a bit for this year though.

Also, few new branches are being introduced, and the numbers of how many seats are to be added for them. That’s another thing to keep in mind. Generally speaking, it has a pretty small intake compared to other private colleges, which is a big advantage.

Your preference order should be SRM>Manipal>KIIT. However, you should choose one of these institutes according to your preference and requirements. SRM and Manipal are quite expensive. But these institute offers an enviable campus experience.

On an overall scale, SRM main campus will be the best choice. SRM University placements 2021 had the highest CTC of INR 35 LPA.

My sister is pursuing MPH from IIPH and the University of Hyderabad. She is going to graduate in April of 2022. MPH in both Manipal and IIPH is structured in the same manner.

Here are the advantages of IIPH though:

  • IIPH has is a public health organization and it aims towards public health only.
  • Most of the IIPH professors are serving as guest faculty of Manipal too. You can assume the quality of education these professors offer.
  • IIPH courses are cost-effective too when you compare them to Manipal's.
  • You will discover brilliant Faculty members at IIPH like the esteemed epidemiologist Dr. Raghupathy Achla; Dr. Rajan Shukla of Health Policy and Dr. Nand Kishore Kannuri.
  • If you compare IIPH's faculty with any other institute's, then only TISS gets the upper hand.

As for working abroad, there are good chances but if you plan to work for India, then be aware of the ground realities because it's very different. The placement rate is about 80% but if you have the requisite skills then you should not worry at all.

If you want to compare Manipal and Thapar University, Thapar University is the better choice.

The academics are unquestionably excellent and experienced. Classroom labs are excellent. There are numerous sports facilities and 40 to 50 clubs or societies. Every day, something related to these societies occurs on campus. One of the best ways to get over homesickness is to stay in a hostel, which has some of the best food in the country.

The number of research projects, major seminars and projects undertaken, MoUs signed, and training programs undertaken by students and faculty members determine whether Thapar University is a good university or not. So, yes, Thapar has completed many projects and has many more in the works, many of which are funded by the government, PSUs, and private organizations, well-organized and detailed training programs with the best organizations, and a lot of investment in research and development with the help of MoUs.

According to my friend at SRM, the KTR campus of SRM is the best choice. If you consider factors like faculty, placements, and a lot more. The points below will provide you a brief overview of all the institutes stated above and the advantages of SRM over them.

  • SRM University has three campuses, first in Kattankulathur, second in Ramapuram, and third in Vadapalani. The campus in Kattankulathur (KTR) is marked as the best among them.
  • In SRM KTR, will make you a real engineer. It has excellent faculty, provides a lot of on-campus placement opportunities, and is also good in extra-curricular activities.
  • The other two campuses of SRM, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani, are somewhat satisfactory, but not as good as the KTR campus.
  • Talking about the NCR, the campus is quite far away from Delhi, which results in a lot of travel to and from Delhi on weekends.
  • The faculty of NCR is not that good and so students have to be dependent on self-study. The placements are decent because it is held in the Chennai (KTR) campus. But, the NCR campus has much lesser fees than the Chennai campus and so, it is considered better.
  • The Manipal University is called a happening campus, which provides excellent college life, extra-curricular activities, party culture, etc. But, students in Manipal University should be aware of the bad habits on campus and choose friends wisely for the same reason.
  • The fee structure in Manipal University is also on a slightly higher side. It provides average quality placement to students.

If you aren’t particularly interested in CSE, it will be better to choose BITS Goa Electronics and Instrumentation. You will get excellent placement opportunities and exposure from BITS Goa. During 2021 placements, the highest CTC received by the institute was INR 43.3 LPA. Google, Cisco, CRED, Flipkart, etc. are some of the major recruits that frequent BITS Goa placements.

If you are planning on pursuing higher education abroad, you will get better exposure from BITS Goa. The BITS brand name is more recognized compared to Manipal.

If you are planning to pursue Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and are considering Manipal and NIT Goa, here is what you should know:

  • Manipal is one of the top-ranked private institutions in India and is known for its excellent infrastructure and academic resources. However, it may be a more expensive option than NIT Goa.
  • NIT Goa, on the other hand, is a relatively new institute, established in 2010. While it has been gaining popularity in recent years, it may be a risky choice for EEE as it does not have a good lab infrastructure required for the course.

Here are some other factors you may want to consider before making a decision:

  • Faculty: Manipal has a strong faculty base with experienced professors who are well-known in their fields. NIT Goa is still building its faculty base and may not have the same level of expertise as Manipal.
  • Placements: Both Manipal and NIT Goa have decent placement records. However, Manipal may have an edge due to its reputation and alumni network.
  • Location: Manipal is located in a small town in Karnataka, while NIT Goa is located in Farmagudi, Ponda, Goa. Depending on your preferences, one location may be more suitable than the other.

Ultimately, the decision between Manipal and NIT Goa will depend on your individual preferences and circumstances. It is important to do your research and make an informed decision that aligns with your career goals and financial capabilities.
