Course Description

Kashmir University admission 2023 is ongoing. Online applications are open for MBA and MBA FM admission against the self-finance quota. Candidates who appeared for the CMAT-2023 examination can apply online till August 28, 2023 through the official website – kashmiruniversity.net.

Kashmir University offers two years on-campus Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. The seats designated by the University are 50% for open merit and 45% for the reserved categories. A graduate of Management, Science, Social Science, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Law (professional), Engineering, Medicine, Technology etc or any other degree recognized by the University can apply for MBA at University of Kashmir. Kashmir University MBA Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for MBA admission at Kashmir University, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:

Any graduate in Management, Arts, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Law (Professional), Engineering, Medicine, Technology, etc., or any other degree recognized by the university as equivalent can apply for the MBA program.
Students who have passed the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accounts, Cost & Works Accountants, and Company Secretaries of India are also eligible to apply.

Kashmir University MBA Admission Criteria

Admission to MBA at Kashmir University is done based on Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores. Candidates who clear the examination will be called for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round. The final selection will be based on composite scores of the entrance test, GD & PI, academic qualifications, and work experience. The weightage for each component is as follows:

Ques. What is the provision of Kashmir University MBA Admission under the self-financed category?

Ans. Notifications of Kashmir University MBA Admission under the self-financed category are released separately. The selection in the self-financed category is the same as in the open merit category. Self-financed students will be required to pay normal fees as charged by other candidates and an additional fee charged under self-financed seats. The fees will be non-refundable in nature and to be paid in two equal installments in the first and third semesters.

Ques. What is the reservation criterion followed at Kashmir University for MBA Admission?

Ans. Kashmir University provides reservations to SC/ ST category candidates and students under different categories. Out of total seats in the MBA program, 67% of seats are filled through Open merit category candidates. The remaining 33% of seats available in the program will be filled up from amongst the reserved categories in order of merit.

I have a few friends who graduated from the University of Kashmir. The university has a great campus and the faculty base is also good. Here are some of the tips that my friends shared. Attendance- If your attendance percentage falls under HOD and VC limit, you can expect to be condoned. But if your percentage falls below an absolute limit, you will be disbarred to attend exams for that year or semester. Study Materials- Get your syllabus as soon as possible. Consult with your teachers to get recommendations regarding study material. The syllabus also comes with a list of recommended books. You can get books from your departmental library, or Allama Iqbal Library. Uniform- Students of IMBA and BA LLB are required to wear uniforms. If you are from these courses follow the uniform rule. Library- The Allama Iqbal library has a great collection of books. Make a library ID, as soon as you join the university. You can borrow 3 books for 20 days. Class representative- In the first week, a class representative will be elected among your classmates. Make sure the person elected is fair. It may seem trivial but it will prove to be helpful in the long run. Co-curricular activities- The university arranges many co-curricular activities for its students. Give the activities a try, you can make good friends and have amazing experiences. If you are planning to join the University of Kashmir these are a few of the things that you should be aware of.

I have a few friends from both universities and according to their reviews, Kashmir University is definitely the best in Kashmir. Especially for the non-management courses. The quality of academics at the institute is unparalleled. Although the business school is treated as the crown of the institute there is a lack of entrepreneurial minds and placement opportunities. This is the only reason the university lags behind for management courses. However, other streams like Engineering, Medical, Arts, Humanities, Computer Science are great. The campus is located at the heart of Srinagar, near the famous Dal Lake. The campus is green and has urban infrastructure. Overall, the University of Kashmir can be a great option for pursuing your course.

I have a few friends from the University of Kashmir. According to their experience, it is not a good option for pursuing an integrated BBA-MBA course. After completing the degree, you will want good placement opportunities. However, the University of Kashmir does not offer any placement opportunities. You will end up searching for bank jobs. Also, BBA-MBA programs need a lot of exposure. You will get little to no exposure at Kashmir University. So, if you are really interested in doing a BBA-MBA program, it’s best to look for better alternatives with decent placement and exposure.

Go for a walk on the banks of Dal Lake with your friends. You can visit the famous Mughal Gardens like Nishat Shalimar, Harwan. You can play games of your liking on the Naseem Bagh campus. There are many eateries, and street food corners around the campus, that you can explore. These are some of the activities that you can engage in during weekends.
