Kashmir University offers two years on-campus Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program. The seats designated by the University are 50% for open merit and 45% for the reserved categories. A graduate of Management, Science, Social Science, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Law (professional), Engineering, Medicine, Technology etc or any other degree recognized by the University can apply for MBA at University of Kashmir. In order to be eligible for MBA admission at Kashmir University, candidates must fulfil the following requirements:
Admission to MBA at Kashmir University is done based on Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) scores. Candidates who clear the examination will be called for a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round. The final selection will be based on composite scores of the entrance test, GD & PI, academic qualifications, and work experience. The weightage for each component is as follows:

Ques. What is the provision of Kashmir University MBA Admission under the self-financed category?
Ans. Notifications of Kashmir University MBA Admission under the self-financed category are released separately. The selection in the self-financed category is the same as in the open merit category. Self-financed students will be required to pay normal fees as charged by other candidates and an additional fee charged under self-financed seats. The fees will be non-refundable in nature and to be paid in two equal installments in the first and third semesters.
Ques. What is the reservation criterion followed at Kashmir University for MBA Admission?
Ans. Kashmir University provides reservations to SC/ ST category candidates and students under different categories. Out of total seats in the MBA program, 67% of seats are filled through Open merit category candidates. The remaining 33% of seats available in the program will be filled up from amongst the reserved categories in order of merit.
Ques. What will be the KU MBA Admission procedure if two students acquire the same CMAT scores?
Ans. If two or more students have secured the same marks in the entrance exam, first preference will be given to one who has higher marks in the qualifying examination. If tie still persist, preference will be given to higher marks achiever in 10+2 will be considered.

If you are planning to join the University of Kashmir these are a few of the things that you should be aware of.
I have a few friends from both universities and according to their reviews, Kashmir University is definitely the best in Kashmir. Especially for the non-management courses. The quality of academics at the institute is unparalleled.
Although the business school is treated as the crown of the institute there is a lack of entrepreneurial minds and placement opportunities. This is the only reason the university lags behind for management courses. However, other streams like Engineering, Medical, Arts, Humanities, Computer Science are great.
The campus is located at the heart of Srinagar, near the famous Dal Lake. The campus is green and has urban infrastructure. Overall, the University of Kashmir can be a great option for pursuing your course.
I have a few friends from the University of Kashmir. According to their experience, it is not a good option for pursuing an integrated BBA-MBA course. After completing the degree, you will want good placement opportunities. However, the University of Kashmir does not offer any placement opportunities. You will end up searching for bank jobs.
Also, BBA-MBA programs need a lot of exposure. You will get little to no exposure at Kashmir University. So, if you are really interested in doing a BBA-MBA program, it’s best to look for better alternatives with decent placement and exposure.

The average salary of students who completed an MBA from Kashmir University is around 1 LPA. After one year of internship in banks, you will earn around 15-24 thousand per month.
It’s better not to do an MBA from Kashmir University if you want good placement opportunities upon completing your degree.
