Maharishi Markandeshwar (MMDU), a deemed to be university, was established in the year 2009 and started its first academic session in the year 2010-11. It is located in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

MMDU, Solan offers B.Tech/ B.Tech LTE/ B.Sc/ BBA/ MBBS courses at UG level and M.Tech, M.Sc (Medical), M.Sc (Nursing), MD and MS courses at PG level. The university also offers Diploma programs in various disciplines.

Applicants have to apply separately for each course. Application form can be filled online followed by submission at the university address.
Students who have passed 10+2 with minimum 45% marks (40% for the reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English are eligible to get admission in the undergraduate programs.
Applicants who have passed 10+2 with 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) are considered eligible to get admission in MBBS program.
Those who have passed graduation with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST category) are eligible to get admission in post-graduate courses.
Admission to B.Sc (Medical), BOT, BPT, BBA and B.Tech (Lateral Entry) course is offered on the basis of candidates’ merit in the qualifying examination, whereas admission to B.Tech program is given in the basis of JEE Main score.
For B.Sc (Nursing), the university conducts separate entrance test to provide admission.
Selection of the candidate for MBBS program is done through NEET UG.
Candidates with valid GATE score are given preference during the admission in M.Tech program.
The candidates have to qualify in NEET PG to secure admission in MD and MS courses.
M.Sc (Medical) admission is based on the marks obtained at Bachelor’s level.

MMDU offers B.Tech (Regular and Lateral), B.Sc (Medical), B.Sc (Nursing), BPT, BOT and MBBS courses in various disciplines at UG level.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 with five subjects and English as one of the mandatory subjects with minimum 45% marks (40% for ST/ SC candidates) in Physics, Mathematics and one of these viz. Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology taken together are considered eligible for B.Tech admission.

For B.Tech LTE program applicant with Diploma in Engineering/ B.Sc in any stream/ with at least 45% marks (40% for the reserved category) are considered eligible. Minimum eligibility criteria for BBA course pass in 10+2 with five subjects and English as one of the main subjects.

Points to Remember:

Candidate will be of minimum 17 years of age on December 31 of the year of admission.
Applicants who have passed the qualifying examination from National Open School are also eligible to get admission in MBBS program.
The University conducts two rounds of counselling process for the admission of candidates in MBBS program.
NRI candidates are admitted to MBBS program as per their merit in NEET-UG.
For B.Sc Nursing course, 85% seats are reserved for open category and 15% seats are reserved for NRI candidates.
Seat distribution for all the courses is in the ratio of 25:75 for State Quota and Management Quota is as per the provisions of the university.

MMDU Solan M.Tech & M.Sc Admission 2023

Students who have completed BE/ B.Tech in Computer Engineering/ Computer Technology/ Information technology/ Electronics and Electrical Engineering with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) or M.Sc in Computer Science/ Electronics/ IT/ Maths/ Software Engineering/ Physics/ Statistics or MCA are considered eligible for admission to M.Tech course.

Similarly, for M.Sc admission, applicants with B.Sc degree in Chemistry with at least 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) from any recognized University are eligible to apply for admission. GATE score is mandatory for M.Tech while M.Sc admission is completely merit-based.
