GJU PhD Admission 2023 is going to begin soon. For admission in Ph.D. programs, candidates are required to appear in the entrance exam followed by counselling. Guru Jambheshwar University (GJU), Hisar offers Ph.D. programs for a minimum duration of 3 years. The Ph.D. program is specialized under eight departments that include Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Environment Science & Engineering, Bio & Nano Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Physiotherapy, and Food Technology. A post-graduate degree in the relevant stream with 55% marks is the minimum requirement for Ph.D. admission. Read more: GJU Admission 2023

GJU Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must have passed a Master's degree in the subject concerned or in an allied subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates of Haryana) in aggregate or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution.

GJU PhD Admission

Admission to Ph.D. programs is made through an entrance exam conducted by the University followed by counselling to be organized by the Department/School concerned. 

Regular teachers of GJU, foreign candidates, candidates who have qualified JRF (valid)/NET, or having valid GATE/GPAT score are exempted from the entrance exam

The merit list for admission to the Ph.D. program shall be made according to the following criteria: 

• 30% weightage of marks in the Master’s Degree Examination. 
• 20% weightage of marks in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination. 
• 50% weightage of marks in the Entrance Test. 
• Weightage of 10 marks to the candidates having valid JRF. 
• Weightage of 05 marks to the candidates having Valid GATE/GPAT/NET 

How to Apply?

• Visit the official site: gjuonline.ac.in/phdadm2223.
• Click on the “New Candidate Registration” option.
• Register yourself by providing necessary details.
• Now Login using set user id and Password
• Fill out the application form.
• Pay the registration fee of Rs.300/- (Reserved categories of Haryana other than EWS) and Rs. 600/- (for EWS candidates of Haryana).
• Go through the details of particulars filled in the form before registration confirmation and click the Confirmation button.
• Candidates are advised to note down Reference No. which appears on the screen after confirming.
• After the registration, candidates will be directed to “Payment Option” on the online payment gateway and make the payment through Debit/Credit Card or by Net Banking.
• Without depositing the Fee, the candidate shall not be allowed to appear in the Entrance Test and also cannot download the admit card. 
• After the payment of the fees, click on “Submit Application Form.”
• A detailed application form will be displayed. The candidate is required to submit all the details along with uploading scanned copies of photographs and Signatures.
• After having done so, click on the “Submit” button.
• Keep one copy of the Confirmed Application Form and fee receipt safely with you for any future reference.

GJU PhD Course Details

The duration of the Ph.D. course work will be 1 semester. It will be offered in the first semester. Each paper of the course work will be of 4 credits

A candidate has to earn a minimum of 75% attendance for the Ph.D. coursework to be eligible for appearing in the examination.

Every candidate has to submit his/her thesis within a period of 4 years, but not before two years from the date of his/her registration, failing which his/her registration shall be canceled.
