Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is one of the renowned law universities in India which offers Integrated UG, PG & Doctoral courses. The university currently offers B.A- LL.B. (Honors), B.Com-LL.B. (Honors), B.B.A-LL.B. (Honors), B.Sc.-LL.B. (Honors), B.S.W-LL.B. Honors), each of 5-year duration. At the PG level, the GNLU Gandhinagar offers LLM courses in four disciplines and also a Ph.D. course at the doctoral level.

For applying in integrated LLB courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 with 45% marks.
Candidates can apply for LLM course if he/she has done an LL.B./Five-Year Integrated LL.B. /any other equivalent degree with at least 55%in aggregate
Admissions to the LLM and LLB courses are granted on the basis of the merit list prepared as per the marks secured by the applicants in the CLAT.
For admission to the MBA program, candidates must have completed graduation with 55% marks and should have a valid CAT score. Equal weightage is given to the CAT scorecard, Legal aptitude test, GD, and the Academic Performance of the candidate.
For applying in the Ph.D. course, a candidate should have passed LLM with minimum 55% marks
Admissions to Ph.D. are granted on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the GNLU. Candidates with a valid score in UGC-NET/SLET are exempted from the admission test.

GNLU was founded in the year 2003 in the heart of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. It is a state university having the approval of BCI and is accredited with Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. It has been ranked at the 7th position among the top law colleges in India by NIRF ranking 2021. Also, various reputed firms visit this university to offer placements with satisfactory packages.

How to apply?

For LLB and LLM

The steps to apply for GNLU Gandhinagar LLB and LLM are as follows:

Visit the official website of CLAT
Register with basic details and obtain the login ID and password.
Proceed to fill the application form.
Upload documents like photograph, signature, Category proof, DOB proof, and domicile documents.
Candidates have to upload academic certificates as well. For UG, the 10+2 mark sheet needs to be uploaded and in case of PG, the certificate of LLB/ five year integrated LLB is required.
Pay the fees for CLAT application form (Rs.4000/- for General/OBC/Specially abled persons and Rs.3500/- for SC/ST)

Documents required:

Scanned photograph and Signature
Proof of Category (if applicable)
HSC passing certificate/ mark sheet/ LLB degree scanned copy (whichever is applicable)
DOB proof.

For MBA

Admission through CLAT Cutoff rank General -500 Ews -1000 Obc -1800 SC-7000 ST - 13000 The exam is conducted every year in December and the admission is done in May/June. You can prepare for the exam in a minimum time of 4-5 months.

Review of GNLU

Remarks:

I gave my CLAT in 2019. I took my coaching from the career launcher in Hyderabad and prepared for the examination. The only eligibility criteria for CLAT is that you will have to finish your 12th standard with a minimum of 55%. A person with reservations has different criteria. Application fees during the time I gave the examination were 4000 per application. The dates are announced by the CLAT committee every year. So you will have to keep a check on the official website of CLAT.
