Mechanical Engineering is the oldest branch of engineering. It was emerged as field of study in 18th century when industrial revolution took place in Europe. In India engineering was started with the establishment of IIT Roorkee, which was established in 1860s as Thomson College of Engineering. Now there are about 4300 engineering colleges in India including Institutes of National Importance i.e. IITs, NITs private colleges and universities like BITS Pilani, VIT etc.
First thing any engineering aspirant considers while choosing a branch is placement, Which branch is in demand nowadays? Which engineering graduates are the highest paid in current scenario? These are some questions that arise when admissions in engineering colleges start. Apart from this palcement criteria there are some other parameters which should be considered while choosing a discipline like- what are the research opportunities, what is scope of career growth etc.
Mechanical Engineering is the evergreen branch of engineering. Market scenario and demand of engineering graduates change every year but the demand of mechanical engineering will never be obsolete. Mechanical engineering graduates can find placements in almost every sector, right from construction sector to steel industry and from automobile to software.

Nirma University IT is a better option. The reasons are course curriculum, the teaching methodology used, and faculty. The seniors of the institute are also quite helpful.
Nirma University offers the best infrastructure among all other colleges in Gujarat. Some of the major recruiters for the branch are Cognizant, Motorola, Samsung, Wipro, etc. Students of Nirma usually get an average CTC of around INR 10 LPA.
You can kickstart your weekends by writing journals and indulge in other extra-curricular activities. Even during the weekdays, you will have time to do many things, like writing journals, playing sports or traveling.
Apart from all fun, you can also prepare for your upcoming lectures or projects. You will find the weekend to be a good time to relax and study peacefully.
Several of my friends have graduated from this university and based on their experience, I can give you the following advice:
The college schedule would keep you very busy. Take good care of your health and fitness. Participate in competitions and try to enhance your skills.
One of my friends studied in DDU and after gathering some information online, I can give you a proper comparison. Analyzing this you will be able to make your decision.
Categories | DDU | MSU |
Course Fee | INR 6.08 lakh | INR 6,000 |
Highest CTC | 10 LPA | 8 LPA |
Average CTC | 6 LPA | 3.5 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | TCS, Infosys, Crest Data Systems, etc. | TCS, Wipro, Infosys, etc. |
It is suggested that you go for DDU instead of MSU. But finally it is your choice. Choose the one that meets your needs and requirements, as it will be easier to blend in.
There are various clubs at Dharmsinh Desai Universitywhich you can join. Here are some of them.
There are also some other groups like NSS which is a social club, Shutterbugs which is a photography club, Go Mad and IT Talks which are student activity centers.
Hence, these are some of the best groups at Dharmsinh Desai University which every student should join as there they will get to meet new people and explore many things and also learn some new skills at the same time.
After doing some research online about these colleges, I found out that mostly students prefer DDU. It would be better in all the ways from campus to placements.
You may also want to know that why they do not prefer LD:
The students passing out from DDU have more skills and knowledge compared to other students. So, overall, DDU would be a better option.
I have a few friends from DDU and according to them, the placement opportunities offered at DDU for the Computer Engineering department are quite good. You will have lots of job opportunities. You just need to be sure about what you want because CE is a wide domain. Companies recruit for different profiles. like Java developer, PHP developer, .NET developer, etc.
According to the placement highlights of this year, for CE the placement average was 100%. The highest CTC offered was more than 30 lakhs and the average CTC offered was nearly 6 lakhs. Some of the major recruiters that visited the placement drive were Infosys, Accenture, TCS, Amazon, etc.
It will be better if you go for PDPU for computer science than DDU. One of my friends studied at PDPU and according to him, just like any other college, it also has its fair share of pros and cons.
Pros:
Cons:
Therefore, opt for what suits your career goals and can fulfill them. Make an informed decision after going through every detail properly.
My sister studied computer engineering at DDU. Based on her experience I will recommend you to join DDU. Here are the reasons why you should choose DDU.
So, overall DDU Computer Science will be a great option.
