Remarks:

The admission process was very easy because it was fully online and I just had to visit the college once for document verification. There was no entrance examination and was fully based on the cut-off system, the list started from 98% for some courses and went to 88%. I don't think that there is a need to make any change in the current process as it's just awesome.

Ambedkar University Delhi - [AUD]: 16 answered questions

Ques
What is it like to study at Ambedkar University Delhi?

● Top Answer By Preeti Verma on 13 Jan 22

Ans
One of my friends studied at Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD). According to him, there are a lot of things that make it better among others. The university gives you a lot of course options across different disciplines. You can explore the variety. You can explore other disciplines, combining subjects like Psychology, History and even Film studies. Every semester will be more exciting than the other.  Your semester will begin with attending classes of different courses in which you are interested and then enrolling for it.  Here, you can design your academic year. For example if you do not like reading Dickens and Hardy, AUD will give you an option to choose what you like. There is no traditional end of year exam as in other colleges.  Here, you will be credited for the process of learning not merely on the product of learning.  You will have presentations, term papers, assignments, seminars throughout. There are also end-sem exams. The medium of teaching is English, for students who have language related issues can opt for the language cell. There is a fee waiver scheme for those who cannot afford.  The Ehsas clinic helps students to deal with any kind of psychological issues.  Lastly, if you perform well in each semester you can also get a scholarship. The Heritage of AUD is exceptional. The environment is welcoming and accepting for students across the globe.

Ques
How is the MBA from Ambedkar University of Delhi?

● Top Answer By Sylvia Basu on 13 Jan 22

Ans
Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) has many things that stand out when compared to other B-schools in India. It is a government university, therefore it has a tough competitive atmosphere.  It provides a brand name, being a government institution. The academic fee is very less. You can complete your MBA degree at a highly subsidized fee. All the faculties are PhD holders from reputed institutes like FMS, IIMs, etc. They give a great platform to learn. Their overall student intake is very less. The number of students taken per batch is 42. This helps in better student-teacher interaction. You also get more opportunities to get placed. The syllabus of MBA at AUD is highly updated following the industrial trends. This keeps students at par with students of other recognized universities. Lastly, being located in Delhi it already has an advantage. You will get a good and competitive crowd which will eventually help in your overall development as an individual.

Ques
Is it difficult to get admission in Ambedkar University Delhi?

● Top Answer By Yash Gupta on 18 Jan 22

Ans
Whether taking admission to Ambedkar University Delhi will be difficult or not depends on the course you are choosing.  For undergraduate courses in Economics, the required cutoff is about 2% lower as compared to the University of Delhi. It’s better to opt for AUD, rather than off-campus DU colleges.  For a postgraduate in Economics, the examination pattern and the level of examination is similar to JNU. First, you are required to clear the cutoff objective, only then your subjective answers are marked. You will be shortlisted for the interview, only when you clear the overall cutoff.

Ques
How good is Ambedkar University as compared to Delhi University?

● Top Answer By Amit Bansal on 18 Jan 22

Ans
Ambedkar University is comparably better. It has a superior faculty base. The student-teacher ratio of the university is also lower, so each student gets more attention. Instead of traditional examinations, the institute evaluates students using innovative and more layered techniques. You will love to take part in those tests. For most disciplines, the curriculum is good.

Ques
Should I consider leaving Delhi University for B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi?

● Top Answer By Arnab Singh on 18 Jan 22

Ans
It depends on the college you are getting admission under Delhi University. If you are able to get into one of the top colleges in the North or South campus of Delhi University, you should stick with it. Otherwise, choosing AUD over DU will be better. One other thing that you should consider while making the choice is your ultimate goal, i.e. research/job. You should definitely choose AUD if you are interested in pursuing research.

Ambedkar University, Delhi is a new university and it comes under the jurisdiction of the Delhi government. It is mostly known for its Humanities courses like Sociology, Phycology, Economics, etc. It has better faculties compared to DU. Almost all faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees. As it is a small institute, the quality of education offered is quite good. They also offer many subject choices for these courses. However, the placement scenario of the institute is not that good.

Ambedkar University and Delhi University both have different visions and different approaches towards teaching. You will get good faculty at both universities.
