Will it be a right decision to leave AIIMS Patna for AIIMS Rishikesh or Raipur considering the current scenario?

Given the current situation, leaving AIIMS Patna for AIIMS Rishikesh or Raipur is not a smart decision. The following are the reasons:

1. Among all AIIMS, AIIMS Patna has the highest patient input (second only to AIIMS Delhi), and in medical studies, patients are your best teacher.

2. The AIIMS Patna PG entrance result is excellent, with several single-digit rankers in various entrance exams.

3. Dams (coaching for PG) has a center in Patna, so you can easily prepare for PG from here.

4. The campus is the largest of all the AIIMS, with numerous fields for casual play and hanging out.

5. A 1000-bed ward, various OTs, and a large library are just a few of the amenities available.

You should choose the AIIMS closest to your home because with the minimal vacations provided to students, you will have frequent cravings to visit home yet keeping in mind that you cannot take much leave.

The hostels at AIIMS Raipur are good and very well maintained.

The first year students stay in the AIIMS residential complex.
It is situated in Kabir nagar 5 km from AIIMS college Tatibandh.
All officers and doctors use this residency for accomodation.
The first years are housed in a flat, in single compartment 2 rooms and another is an open room, one room is used by single students and the other one is for two students.
The first year students (girls) are provided 3 Bhk flats (in AIIMS Residential complex, about three kilometres away from the AIIMS college) with two bathrooms which are shared by five girls.
Three of them are provided single rooms (2 rooms and the hall) and two of them share a room.
All the basic facilities are available like 24 hour water supply, hot water, etc.
The flats are clean and well maintained.
They are spacious and have two balconies.

The first year students are provided a bus for transportation from AIIMS residential to the college. All students are provided single rooms from their second year onwards in the main AIIMS hostel.

One of my friends studied at AIIMS Raipur. According to him during his first year he realized that the college is extremely disciplined and punctual.

The classes started at about 10 AM. So they have to wake up early at 7 in the morning to get prepared for attending the classes.
At 9:30 AM there was a bus that students availed to travel to the college. It usually took 15 minutes to reach the campus.
After that they were escorted to the lecture hall where the department of anatomy welcomed everyone and got to know every student.
After the introductory session they were taken to various anatomy labs and dissection hall to get acquainted with the department.
Students were told about the dress code and discipline.
The student crowd here is very diverse.
The faculty also introduced themselves.

Lastly, they were told that for one week they will have introductory sessions with different departments and then will be released to go back to the hostel.

Which is better AIIMS Raipur Patna or Rishikesh?

1. 1. Faculty: Both institutes have elite professors, so there is no need for comparison in this regard.
  2. Department: AIIMS Rishikesh is more established in terms of the number of PG seats available.
  3. Campus: AIIMS Raipur has a bigger campus compared to Rishikesh.
  4. Neighborhood:
    - AIIMS Raipur is located in Raipur, which is a fast-growing city with easy access to various amenities and facilities, including malls. However, the city is also known for pollution and traffic.
    - AIIMS Rishikesh is located in a scenic area but lacks proper town planning. It is located an hour away from Dehra Dun and five hours from Delhi NCR.
  5. Freedom:
    - It's important to consider the amount of freedom a college offers before joining.
    - AIIMS Rishikesh had students protesting for basic human rights like not cutting electric supply to hostels during college hours.
    - AIIMS Raipur is strict but considerate.
