AIIMS Raipur is one of the top medical colleges in the country. It has one of the best medical faculties in India. It offers good academics and decent clinical exposure to students. There are good flow of patients in all departments, i.e. Surgery, Cardio, Medicine, Ortho, Skin, ENT, etc.  The institute offers all basic amenities. The E-library and the central library have a huge collection of books. There is 24*7 WiFi available in the E-library. 

Given the current situation, leaving AIIMS Patna for AIIMS Rishikesh or Raipur is not a smart decision. The following are the reasons: 1. Among all AIIMS, AIIMS Patna has the highest patient input (second only to AIIMS Delhi), and in medical studies, patients are your best teacher. 2. The AIIMS Patna PG entrance result is excellent, with several single-digit rankers in various entrance exams. 3. Dams (coaching for PG) has a center in Patna, so you can easily prepare for PG from here. 4. The campus is the largest of all the AIIMS, with numerous fields for casual play and hanging out. 5. A 1000-bed ward, various OTs, and a large library are just a few of the amenities available. You should choose the AIIMS closest to your home because with the minimal vacations provided to students, you will have frequent cravings to visit home yet keeping in mind that you cannot take much leave.

The hostels at AIIMS Raipur are good and very well maintained. The first year students stay in the AIIMS residential complex.  It is situated in Kabir nagar 5 km from AIIMS college Tatibandh.  All officers and doctors use this residency for accomodation. The first years are housed in a flat, in single compartment 2 rooms and another is an open room, one room is used by single students and the other one is for two students. The first year students (girls) are provided 3 Bhk flats (in AIIMS Residential complex, about three kilometres away from the AIIMS college) with two bathrooms which are shared by five girls.  Three of them are provided single rooms (2 rooms and the hall) and two of them share a room. All the basic facilities are available like 24 hour water supply, hot water, etc. The flats are clean and well maintained.  They are spacious and have two balconies. The first year students are provided a bus for transportation from AIIMS residential to the college. All students are provided single rooms from their second year onwards in the main AIIMS hostel.

It’s true that AIIMS Raipur is less preferred among the AIIMS. However, the hospital facilities and the patient load that they cater to are pretty good. Also, the campus is within the city, which is a plus point. But the campus facilities are not that good. The hostels are situated 1-2 km away from the main campus. The sports facilities on campus are also not that good. Also, there are rumors about the existence of the Naxalite community in the region. There are some of the reasons why students prefer other AIIMS over the Raipur campus.

The AIIMS MBBS 2021 Cut off (Qualifying Scores) required by the candidates for admission are the following:  Categories NEET 2021 Cut Off Scores General 720-138 OBC 137-108 SC 137-108 ST 137-108 The general category students require a 50 percentile and for others the requirement is 40 percentile.  The closing rank for AIIMS Raipur in the year 2018 is 1145 for the general category students.

As one of my friends is from AIIMS Raipur, I have some knowledge about it. Let me share some of the facts of AIIMS Raipur: Many students claim that Raipur is a better place to stay than Patna. The academics here are really good and are constantly updating. The faculties are highly experienced and very cooperative. The faculties even come up with certain tips and tricks which help the students to easily remember theories or experiments. The first year MBBS students are housed in 3 BHK flats with each room shared by 5 students.  The 3rd year students get single rooms with attached bathrooms, if there is vacancy. If not, 2 students live on a sharing basis. All the necessary facilities are available, like 24hrs hot water supply, etc. The college organizes functions for various occasions. Students get to witness marathons, dance events, streetplays, and all sorts of cultural and sports activities. Therefore students at AIIMS Raipur are quite well off.

The comparison between AIIMS Patna and AIIMS Raipur is also drawn between Bihar and Chhattisgarh. Undoubtedly, Chhattisgarh is much better and safer compared to Bihar.  Now, in AIIMS Raipur the academics, events, professors, students, accomodation- all of these factors contribute to making AIIMS Raipur a better place to study than AIIMS Patna.  The professors here put in great efforts and come up with amazing techniques to make sure that the study and teaching does not become monotonous for the students.  Coming to the stay, students are alloted 3 bhk flats where 5 students can be accommodated according to the space.  The facilities are very good and will not hinder your stay at all and you can focus on your studies very smoothly.  The college is also becoming better and hosting various events for the students so they have extra-curricular activities to look forward to other than studies.  The events include street plays, marathons, dance events, sports activities and all kinds of such productive things. Choose what works best in your interest. AIIMS Raipur is considered better by the young aspirants than AIIMS Patna, for their overall performance as an institution.

One of my friends studied at AIIMS Raipur. According to him during his first year he realized that the college is extremely disciplined and punctual. The classes started at about 10 AM. So they have to wake up early at 7 in the morning to get prepared for attending the classes. At 9:30 AM there was a bus that students availed to travel to the college. It usually took 15 minutes to reach the campus. After that they were escorted to the lecture hall where the department of anatomy welcomed everyone and got to know every student. After the introductory session they were taken to various anatomy labs and dissection hall to get acquainted with the department. Students were told about the dress code and discipline.  The student crowd here is very diverse. The faculty also introduced themselves. Lastly, they were told that for one week they will have introductory sessions with different departments and then will be released to go back to the hostel.

If you are looking to compare AIIMS Raipur and AIIMS Rishikesh, here are some points to consider: Faculty: Both institutes have elite professors, so there is no need for comparison in this regard. Department: AIIMS Rishikesh is more established in terms of the number of PG seats available. Campus: AIIMS Raipur has a bigger campus compared to Rishikesh. Neighborhood: AIIMS Raipur is located in Raipur, which is a fast-growing city with easy access to various amenities and facilities, including malls. However, the city is also known for pollution and traffic. AIIMS Rishikesh is located in a scenic area but lacks proper town planning. It is located an hour away from Dehra Dun and five hours from Delhi NCR. Freedom: It's important to consider the amount of freedom a college offers before joining. AIIMS Rishikesh had students protesting for basic human rights like not cutting electric supply to hostels during college hours. AIIMS Raipur is strict but considerate. If you prefer city life with access to amenities and facilities, AIIMS Raipur might be the better option for you. If you prefer nature and peaceful surroundings, AIIMS Rishikesh might be a better fit. Consider the department and the amount of freedom the college offers before making a decision.

It is recommended that you enroll in SMS, Jaipur. The following are the benefits of SMS over AIIMS: 1. Old and well-established. 2. A higher patient load compared to non-Delhi AIIMS. 3. Arguably superior facilities. 4. You will have a state quota for the PG entrance exam, which is unquestionably important. In terms of clinical exposure and teachers, SMS Jaipur far outperforms any of the new AIIMs.
