Likes
- Most of the faculty is highly educated and well versed with subject. .
- Administration as well as faculty are very co-operative and kind regarding any issues.
- The campus is very large, having a lot of greenery. Students also have access to various clubs, ncc etc
Dislikes
- The pg college buildings are too old. They need a makeover.
- The infrastructure needs development. Labs should be maintained properly
- Outdoor activities like field trips, educational trips should be organized between a period of time
Remarks :
I chose this college as a priority because firstly it is a direct branch of osmania university. One more reason for considering this college was that it is very close to my house. Other colleges for M.Sc biotechnology are located very far from my home. The admission for M.Sc biotechnology in this college is directly through the tscpget counselling. If u get a good rank, it is very easy to get admission in this college. I was selected in this college during the very first stage of counselling as i had earned a very good rank (92) in cpget exam. The cutoff for the tscpget exam is 25% ( u need to get 25 marks out off 100). The overall admission experience is very smooth as every step in the counseling process was conducted in a very systematic manner.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the biotechnology course includes all the relevant topics needed to gain information about the subject. The curriculum also includes currently developing topics of interest which may gain popularity in the future (like bioinformatics). It thoroughly prepares us for real world applications as we gain exposure to various fields of interest in the subject and get a hands-on training in the subject. Ab area i would like to suggest for improvement is to alot equal no. Of periods to different papers in the subject as each topic has its own value in the academic and career purpose. The internals are conducted every month within a duration of 1 hour for each paper. there are currently 4 internals for our batch, each of 10 marks. The externals or the end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester approx 6 months, which are of 50 marks. 10 marks is alloted for attendance, bringing the total to 1000.
Internships Opportunities :
There are various internship oppotunities provided for the students. The department provides various career opportunities with a lot of pharmaceutical, medical, agriculture industries. Some of them include aura lifecare private limited, iict, osmania university etc.. The minimum stpend is usually between 5000-7000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I had paid 10500 for general category for M. sc biotechnology course in the year 2023 in a general category through coget counselling. For individuals belonging to sc, st there is a chance of 100% scholarship. A fee of 800/- is to be paid mandatorily by a student during admission process. The scholarship is provided by the state government through tsepass website.
Campus Life :
The overall campus life is decent. The infrastructure of the building is also pretty decent with a few exceptions. The college has a well built library providing numerous books. Apart from a general library, there are also department libraries for different departments through which students can easily access books. The classrooms also provide digital learning tools. There are several clubs in which we can participate. The college holds various programmes for several festivals. Atleast 2-3 events are held every month. Several extracurricular activitues such as sports like cricket, football, chess etc.. can easily be accessed in the college. The college also provides training for ncc cadets.
Faculty :
There is 4-5 faculty members responsible for a class. The faculty as well as the hod are very friendly, kind and supportive. I like the biotechnology faculty the best as they are very co operactive with the students. The course structure includes 4 semesters (cbcs) . It is a semester system with end semester exams conducted every 6 months. The marks structure includes internals, externals, and practical marks

Placement Experience :
Usually the placement at BITS are decent enough.Most of the companies visit campus for placements such as Google , Microsoft,Amazon etc . Last year the maximum package was around 60lpa and avg package was around 21lpa . For CSE almost all students gets placed.
