Remarks :
Admission at bits is done through BITSAT(BITS admision test) (total marks 360) From the last few year the cutoff for admission at bits is continously increasing. For CSE branch usually the min marks is 285 subsequently drops for other branches
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course structure is very well designed and planned. The entire semester is divide into majorly three components : 1. Tutorial test 2. midsems 3 . Endsems(compre) Usually a semester lasts for 4 months or so .
Placement Experience :
Usually the placement at BITS are decent enough.Most of the companies visit campus for placements such as Google , Microsoft,Amazon etc . Last year the maximum package was around 60lpa and avg package was around 21lpa . For CSE almost all students gets placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since BITS has higher fees as compared to other instiutes it provides various scholarships : 1. MCN(merit cum need scholarship) -> this is for the students whose family income lies below a certain bracket(changes every year ) 2.Merit scholarship -> this is for the students who are extremely good at academics
Campus Life :
Campus life is quite good and enjoyful.The annual fest that happen here are:: 1. ATMOS (technical fest ) 2. ARENA(Sports fest ) 3. PEARL(cultural fest ) All classes are equipped with smart board also bits provides the facility of watching recording the lectures. campus has all the sports facilities including a separate football , cricket and hockey ground. there are various clubs and departments which provides students to showcase their hobbies and talent.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel rooms are equipped with lan cable and wifi as well.ammenities that are provided in the room are : 1. Study Table 2.Chair 3.Bed 4.White board 5. personal almirah mess food quality is pretty much good with good cleanliness and hygiene.
Faculty :
At BITS all the faculties are highly educated and most of them had already at various government institutions as well such as iit ,nit ,iiits etc. Also they are very much helpful regarding your query related to the subject and always try to make things easier for the students

Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the biotechnology course includes all the relevant topics needed to gain information about the subject. The curriculum also includes currently developing topics of interest which may gain popularity in the future (like bioinformatics). It thoroughly prepares us for real world applications as we gain exposure to various fields of interest in the subject and get a hands-on training in the subject. Ab area i would like to suggest for improvement is to alot equal no. Of periods to different papers in the subject as each topic has its own value in the academic and career purpose. The internals are conducted every month within a duration of 1 hour for each paper. there are currently 4 internals for our batch, each of 10 marks. The externals or the end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester approx 6 months, which are of 50 marks. 10 marks is alloted for attendance, bringing the total to 1000.
