I applied to xavier's because i liked the infrastructure and the history behind st xaviers college. Also the expert faculty in statistics is also a factor. I got admission in several other colleges but the vibrant campus life and the reputation of xaviers made me chose xavier's over others. The admission process is pretty simple. We just have to send our higher secondary results and based on cut off we get in.
The curriculum is really good at xavier's. The faculties provide examples of real life applications to most of the theory they teach. But the curriculum needs more projects and hands on experiments in several aspects. Two semester exams in a year is conducted and the difficulty level range from moderate to difficult.
The yearly fee structure at St. Xavier’s College includes: - Tuition Fee: ?30,000 - Admission Fee: ?5,000 (one-time) - Registration Fee: ?1,000 - Caution Fee: ?3,000 (refundable) - Development Fee: ?7,000 - Lab Fee: ?2,000 - Other Charges: ?2,000 The fees generally increase by about 5% annually. The annual intercollege festival of xaviers is called malhar and it is one of the best fests in mumbai. It is held in august. Also there is janfest and various other fests. The library is a home to a wide range of various books and you will get any books in any genre here. The facilities and technological provisions here are really nice. The campus support a lot of sports and extracurricular activities thereby supporting the students in their area of interest. There are a lot of student run social groups and clubs that helps the students in engaging social activities.
St xavier's has a wide range of experted faculty in many fields. Many of the faculty are approachable and most of them help us with our studies if we find it difficult. One of the nitable facluty include annapurna ma'am and saju sir of statistics department. They teach really well and clear all pur doubts in the class itself. Economics, english and bms department have other notable faculties. The math department faculties are not that effective. They fail to clear some doubts and the materials they teach are unclear to most of the students.
The course in itself is very excellent and very well tailored for us students If studied well then after graduating you will be ready to face the job sector Yearly 2 semester exams are conducted which include internal and external exams
After 6 semester students become eligible for campus placement. Companies visiting in our college like tata cipla etc Offers also better. 60 to 80 persentage students getting placement for our college....
The course curriculum at St. Xavier’s College is quite relevant and comprehensive. It includes core subjects, electives, and practical components, offering a well-rounded education in Statistics and Mathematics. The integration of practical work and theoretical knowledge was a key factor in choosing this course, as it promises a strong foundation for both real-world applications and advanced studies. **Real-World Preparation**: The curriculum effectively prepares students for real-world challenges and further academic pursuits by aligning with industry standards and research trends. **Areas for Improvement**: To enhance the curriculum, consider incorporating more contemporary topics and hands-on learning opportunities. Improving interactive teaching methods could also benefit student engagement and understanding.
The subject I opted is microbiology and our department is actually very strict in case of studies but on the same side the staff is also very good . We very perform various experiment like testing blood, water and soil which are used in laboratories in day to day examination. The teaching method is also very great to understand. And the examination are also moderate
I don't know about here placement but I hear from teachers they say these college provide placement in big companies like Google,Tata consultancy services, and I saw the from this college on highest post on biggest companies.
Students become eligible for campus placements after 5th semester. Mostly there are 4-5 companies which visit during campus visits. The highest package last year provided to bsc.cs student was of 6lpa and average package is around 4lpa. Around 30-40% students get placements. My plans after getting degree is to pursue higher education.
