After filling the form of admission on Dhe gov site, I choosed PGGC11 as my first preference because as per the reviews of students,it is one of the best colleges under Punjab University. No such entrance exam is required for BSc. You just have to score good in your 12th and try to pass your 12th from Chandigarh. This will give you UT quota and will help you in easy admission.
Computer science curriculum had more theory part of coding. 1st year had C programing Along with C++ in 2nd year. There is a lot to learn in this degree also. We focus more on theoretical part rather than object oriented programming. More focus can be made on improving computer labs Difficult level of exams is moderate to difficult.
Fees for Bachelor of Science in the branch computer science is quite affordable. I just paid 13,000 for the first semester, 12,880 for the second semester. This included tution fees, registration fees as well as admission fees. You will have to pay just 85rs for registration on Dhe.gov site. Next I paid examination fees which is also quite affordable. It was around 300 previous year. In second year your overall fees will be reduced to 11,880 and more less in the final year.
In summers, youth festival is conducted at various colleges of Punjab University. Book fest is conducted every 2 to 3 months. Science exhibition is also conducted in November which gives a very good opportunity to science students to show their talent. NCC and NSS also provide good opportunities for students to enhance their personality. Various clubs like drama clubs, music clubs are there for extra curricular development
The faculty student ratio varies from subject to subject. We had around 200:1 ratio. Teachers are approachable and have good knowledge of their subject. Maths chemistry physics faculty is very good. A large scope of research is provided Mainly semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester along with mid semester tests which helps in revision.
Students can be eligible for placements from 5th semester onwards depending upon his/her knowledge. There is a department provided for regular seminars and discussions related with placements. As I am in my 2nd year so I don't have accurate data about the companies or recruiters but Knows about the placements opportunities. When the recruiters comes to our college then they firstly hires bca students (related to our course) and then bsc cs students. If student doesn't get campus placement then he/she can apply in other intern companies which have tie-ups with our college.
I mean it depends on the student if she is interested to take part and also to learn new things I think she definitely has that thing to cop with every possible scenario be it study stress or curriculum activities.
For me this course is great but I don't understand the one subject of my course. My course has many events competitions from which we can get cerurificates and my course has internships after every year. The timings of exams are 9:30am to 12:30 pm and the difficulty of exams increase semester by sememster.
The course curriculum is relevant it includes subjects like national health delivery system, medical record , biomedical waste management which gives us basic information about what to do or not to do. The curriculum prepares us by teaching subjects like Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry , hematology etc. And applied the same on patients in hospital helps a lot. Improvements is that if the syllabus is too much then it is divided in next semester also like Anatomy is a vast subject it should be divided into at least two semesters. Exams are ten in first semester and then four in second semester. Tyming of exams vary with the subjects . Difficulty level also varies along with the subjects.
Everything is good, campus is also good and there are 2 canteens one is good one need to improve one . Arts department and commerce department the classroom are to awesome but science department class rooms are shorter and shortest of fans as well this should be improved
