Pros and cons of studentlife in pgimer Chandigarh
Likes
- Studentship se one of the best thing . Their is a lot of patient exposure which provides a lot of experience.
- Classes management is very good. It never clash with timing of postings of the students .
- Rather than studies their is a lot of activities and functions for the students.
Dislikes
- Their is also cons of studentship because it is very hectic . Their is not enough energy remains after the posting to attend the classes.
- Their is not any kind of facilities like stipend or scholarship or placement for the students .
- The conditions of hostel is also not so good .
Remarks :
I choose this college because post graduate institute of medical science and technology (PGIMER) , Chandigarh is one of the best institute in India. And this is affordable also for the middle class family's. I don't apply for any other college than PGIMER. Admission process of pgimer Chandigarh first if all they conduct a exam after that declaration of result . And after that counselling is done . And after that documents are submitted and then after fee submission admission process is completed.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is relevant it includes subjects like national health delivery system, medical record , biomedical waste management which gives us basic information about what to do or not to do. The curriculum prepares us by teaching subjects like Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry , hematology etc. And applied the same on patients in hospital helps a lot. Improvements is that if the syllabus is too much then it is divided in next semester also like Anatomy is a vast subject it should be divided into at least two semesters. Exams are ten in first semester and then four in second semester. Tyming of exams vary with the subjects . Difficulty level also varies along with the subjects.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The overall fee for the course of dialysis therapy technology is 8120 . It costs 2030 per year. In first year Registration fee : Rs.200/- Tution fee : Rs.250/- per annum Laboratory fee : Rs. 120/- per annum Amalgamated fund: Rs. 120/- per annum Security: Rs. 300/- ( Refundable after deduction of dues, if any on completion of the course.) Library fee : Rs. 40/- Semester examination fee : Rs. 1000/- for each semester. The fee for all the categories is same . And we don't provide any scholarship or financial aid .
Campus Life :
The overall experience about the campus is nice. Their are many functions like national association of paramedical students their inauguration day celebration function after that a Annual function Zenith organised by doctors. Their is a range and variety of all kind of books available in Library. Classrooms , auditorium and seminar room are also good and are different fir every department. Their is pgimer Chandigarh their own team of sports like cricket , badminton . And their is also a lot of extracurricular activities like dancing , rangoli competition, singing competition, etc.
Faculty :
The faculty of the institute is not so good . Their is not even so much interaction between the faculty and the students directly. I personally don't like any faculty. And the reason of not liking them is they not give us so much importance. The exams are of moderate level. Sometimes it is too hard also. Some students also got failed . Course curriculum is not so nice . Subjects are to be divided in different semesters so that students easily learn them .

Course Curriculum Overview :
This course is an inspiration for me to be a better doctor who can help people as much as I can. This course tells me many things like why we need to avoid harmful radiation and how to avoid them. We can make people aware of radiation who don't know the harm of radiation. We need improvement in our radiology labs. It is not fully equipped. We have then semester exam and they are difficult but not out of syllabus. They are very lengthy.
