My view of upes
Likes
- Honestly , the best thing about is it's location . It is surround by mountains and is have a very good vibe.
- The teaching faculty here is also very good and top class. They have quite good teaching methods.
Dislikes
- Well , there is racism upto some level . If are from some other state u might face some racism
- The city is very far from the college , which makes it as a disadvantage
Remarks :
You can either take admission through our college entrance or throung having good percentile in jee mains. You can find everythung about it on official of our college . No reservation benefits is availed . Well the admission process is mostly either on phone call or offline , so the phone call can be more smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Well i had it planned earlier only to pursue computer science . The curriculum is prepared to train us real world application mostly in every lecture they teach us something about it . We have mid sems and end sems every semester and difficulty is very mediocre if you study well.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I paid around 4.5 lacs in the 1 st year . The tuition fees is 1.37 lacs and the academic fees is around 91,000. Well there is only concession for students who live in dehradun . I do not have a idea of that . Scholarships are based on your jee percentile or board percentage.
Campus Life :
We have a annual fest name uurja every where a special guest comes like last year darshan raval came and we also a annual sports fest known as spandan . The library is huge and have a decent amount of books for each and every courses . Classes are well equipped with projectors and white board . Theyare big and airy and have good seating space .
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel which i stay in is outside the college . It is a big campus and provide almost every facility including good food , gym and places for playing sports also . Hostel can booked through their site or by directly visiting the premises . The hostel i stay is charging me 1.60 lac per year negotiable .
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is 1:64 and some times it might affect our learning experience but not a very bug issue . Some faculties might have a different teaching style but everyone here is too good. Teachers are very approachable and friendly . I often interact with them.

placements are okayish according to a private university. Average package is around 5-6 lpa which is low as compared to the fee they charge. Off campus placements are very high and good. On campus placements are good for girls

The placement of the college is very good almost 70 percentage of students are well placed in this college with average package of 500000 more than 200 companies are visiting in this college the highest package of btech cse is 1.5 crores
Overall good college

College provide campus placements but it also depends on the scene of recession. Average package is 4 lakh per annum. I want campus placements but if not then I'll try off campus . And the college do not claim any certain amount of percentage that how many percent of students got placement .
Light on Life at UPES
Placement Experience :
Currently, the placements start about a month after you enter your final year. I obviously don't have any official data regarding which company come and which don't but some of the notable ones I heard that came this year are D.E Shaw, Decathlon, Infosys, Intel etc. The highest recorded package as mentioned by the college for CS is 50 LPA and the average for the same is about 8 LPA. Percentage of students who got placed this year was a bit less, like most of the colleges this year. I plan to take up a job and after gaining some experience, would love to get a second degree
