Students must appear for WBJEE to get admission. Mostly Admission is done through WBJEE councelling, there is a chance of direct admission(very limited seats) if you are having good marks in 12th and have WBJEE rank card. Management quota is also available. The cut-off depends on the availability of seats.
In this college the core branches like Mechanical, Chemical, Biotechnology, Electrical are really good and have good placement rates. The non-core branches like CSE, AIML, etc also good but the placement rate have reduced. There are many Clubs in the colleges which gives the opportunity to develop some other skills required for real world applications. Like Manab Racing club gives you the opportunity to build a F3 car from scratch and take it to racing tracks. There are many more like this. This this will develop your extra skills besides studies. In a year there are two semesters and between one semester exam 2-3 class tests are given. Though it's good but simultaneously it becomes hectic to complete the syllabus and creates an extra pressure.
The campus placement starts mainly from 6th semester.The campus placement is good, but this year i.e. 2023-24 the placement rate was around 52% which was 91% in previous year. The mechanical and food technology branches had the maximum placement this session with almost 80%+ placement rate, the non-core branches like CSE, AIML had very low placement rate. The highest package offered this year was 33lpa which was 22lpa previous year. The avg package was 3-4.5 lpa. After my graduation I would try for campus placement.
1st sem fees:- 82000 (now it increased to 102000), and after that every even sem fees is 60500 and for odd is 63000. In 1st sem you have to pay:- 10000 (admission fees) + 5000 (lib. membership, ID card) + 60500 (tuition fee)+ 5000 ( refundable caution fee )+16500 (development fee) + 500 ( University registration ) + 2200 ( University development ) +1000 ( stdnt welfare )+ 1500 (library)= ?102000 (only for 1st sem). After that the sem fees are same as mentioned earlier for all B.Tech stdnts. Students from West Bengal can apply for SVMCM SCHOLARSHIP (?60K/YR). Hostel fees is 12000 per semester.
Two college fest occurs in the college i.e. RIVERA( cultural fest), PRAYUKTI(tech fest) around March and April. Unfortunately it did not took place this year. Besides there also take place Annual Cultural Meet which is a cultural program. Also different sports tournament takes place like cricket, football, basketball, chess, etc. Some of The classrooms are having projectors but they are hardly used. The infrastructure of the classroom and labs could have been more improved.
The faculty -to- student ratio is fair. Most the teachers taking practical classes makes a student understand the thing very clearly. The theory classes are sometimes boring due to the teachers' teaching techniques. A student can interact with the teacher whenever they want, infact there is a separate unofficial what's app grp for every subject where the teacher sends notes and study materials.
From 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. 10-20 or more companies visit our college. Highest package is about 76 lacs and average package is about 4.5 lacs which isn't bad. 70% + students get placed as freshers.
Upon completing their fifth semester, students become eligible for campus placements, which are facilitated at the Career Development Center within the campus premises. The placement rates have consistently been high, reaching 98% in 2020, 88% in 2022, and 95% in 2023. Key recruiters include TCS, IBM, Google, Infosys, Adobe, and Amazon. The median salary packages for undergraduate (UG) four-year degrees stood at 6.5lakhs in 2020, 7 lakhs in 2021, and 6 lakhs in 2022. While many students opt for placements, some may also choose to pursue higher studies such as MTech or MBA.

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There are lot of companies which visit the college but most percentage of the jobs are offered by Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Reliance, Wipro etc. the average package in my department during 2024 campus placements is 14 LPA and the highest package is 39 LPA in campus placements and 83 LPA in off campus placements. More than 80 Percent of the students are placed every year. I plan to write Gate and do MBA after getting my degree.
