the eligibility of the course was one language plus 3 core subjects in respect to b.com it was accountancy, business studies and economics, with language as english. There was no cut off list officially declared we were just alloted courses based on pur stimulated rank by Delhi University Csas portal, the exams were conducted in batches, with core subjects in one batch and english and general test in another batch on two seperate days and two separate centres. NTA can focus on providing centres nearer to our houses since it was not feasible for some students to travel that far to give an entrance hence a lot of people moved towards admissions in private colleges. The exams were pretty much basic and mcq based but also based on our practical knowledge more than theoritcal aspect of the subject.
The cuuriculum of my course personally, is bery to depth and to the point, the core subjects really help the improve on practicality as well as the theory portion of the subject, due to the NEP, the subjects have increased like SEC, VAC, AEC which may burden the students in the long run since the total of the subjects become a lot and the examinations become tougher for the students each year. The curriculum prepares thoroughly for the real world application of knowledge, the exams happen twice in a year mid sems and end sems, the mid sems happen around NOV-DEC while the end sems happen in MAY-JUNE.
Our college offers a lot of internship opportunities to freshers and second year students, some are unpaid depending in the company, they all our posted on the linked in profile of our placement cell, and on the telegram of our cell.
Students become eligible for placement in the final year of their course, a lot of companies do come in our college through our placement cell of mata sundari college for Women, like KPMG and p&c which do offer placements in our college. The average package offered at Mata sundari is of 5 LPA, the highest package acc to 2022-23 year was 6.6 LPA, so not a lot of scope and dependence of placement through our college. Although the placement rate is 60% in bcom and honors. I am pursuing CA with bcom, so i am not dependent on the placement cell of the college.
Delhi university, as is a government institution the fees for courses is very minimal considering other colleges and institutions, and the degree holds a lot of importance. DELHI UNIVERSITY provides various forms of scholarships and financial aids to students such as DR. VKRV rao endowment book grant, which provides 100rs/ month to all 3 year courses and all years, SAMAJ KALYAN SCHOLARSHIP, this helps students complete their education, PURAN KHATRI BOOK GRANT, which provides rs. 40 per month to first year students of Ug Courses.
The annual fest of our college is SAARANG, In which the college organises various cultural performances and contests among different DU colleges, and a celebrity apperance by various famous punjabi singers. They are typically held in the months through november to january, during the FEST season of Delhi University. One of the best things about MSCW is their library, they offer books on almost every single subjects with different content from various authors and various editons of the books which are updated yearly. There are lab facilities offered by our college as well as some air conditioned classes. A lot of sports are taking place in our college like gatka, volleyball, self defence and dance socities like bhangra, giddha, classical dances and singing socities. There are debate and theatre socities as weell. our college offers the student council, NCC and social work socities.
A very important aspect is to have qualified professors, DU has very little experienced and well qualified teachers who not only pay attention to detail but also help students effectively study for their examinations as well as they are very easy to talk to and respond pretty well considering it a big pro since doubts can be cleared any time of the day.
My Course is not such difficult from my side I think if you study daily 3-4 hours consistently then the course will be soo easy for you. For this you have to attend all the classes which are happened in the college and have to do self study also.
I would rate the course curriculum at Dyal Singh Evening College as **8 out of 10** in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. Relevance: The curriculum is generally aligned with current academic and industry standards, ensuring that students are exposed to both foundational theories and contemporary developments in their fields. The inclusion of skill-enhancement courses and electives allows students to tailor their education to match their career aspirations, making the curriculum quite relevant to real-world applications. Comprehensiveness: The curriculum covers a broad range of topics within each discipline, providing a thorough understanding of core subjects while also allowing for specialization. However, like many institutions, there may be occasional gaps in addressing emerging trends or interdisciplinary approaches, which could enhance the comprehensiveness further. Overall, the curriculum does a solid job of preparing students for further academic pursuits.
the course curriculum at jmc is well structured and offers a solid foundation core subjects. what made me choose BCom honours is the range of elective is that let me focus on what my interest is in and what is great for personalising my studies. The curriculum enclose real world topics are prepare me for actual situation, which are really helpful, it balances theory and practical well, helping me to get ready for both job and further studies, internships and projects give me hand hands on experience as well, exams are spaced out well, but they can be challenging the test. My understanding thoroughly, so we have to be prepared. More practical assessment might make things even better. They also use modern teaching methods and technology technology that makes classes more engaging. They also add more practical projects or industry connections that make the learning even more relevant.
students from all the courses have different opportunities in placements accorsing to their work and skills. many top companies come and recruit students who are capable for their required position. but percentage of direct placement is very low
The course curriculum is updated as the NEW EDUCATION POLICY (NEP), which now is followed in the university of Delhi. The NEP is something new and provides various other subjects which can help to guide the career of the students
Basically, I was a commerce student so I didn't have much choices and it was already clear that I want to do bcom honours from du. The teaching methods and concepts are so helpful in reality and day-to-day life that's also a factor to crave for this course.
There are very few campus placements at my college but you can still pursue various avenues to secure a job. The students become eligible for campus placements from their last year. The companies that visited the college for campus placements were wipro, TresVista, Flipkart, Aon, Moglix,PlanetSpark, Propacity etc. According to some of my seniors in the same course the highest package was something around 21 lakhs and the average package is about 3-5 lakhs. The percentage of students that get placed is 30%. My plans after getting the degree is to get into a college for my masters degree.
I choose this course as I was very passionate to study commerce in my higher studies and I made my mind to study B.com hons at Delhi University as it's a very good place for the students in every aspect.
