FISAT: my experience upto 2nd year
Likes
- Very vibrant and friendly college atmosphere which feels fresh. Good freedom and generally enjoyable college life.
- Amazing and quality infrastructure. Good laboratories, hygienic and variety canteen, juice bar, massive playground which even hosts large tournaments, gym and a lot more.
- Assured placement if there are no backlogs. Also major recruiters visit this campus along with the top colleges in this state.
Dislikes
- Breaks are often short and there isn't much time to go outside and just rest.
- Fees is very pricey even compared to higher yeilding colleges but FISAT has good infrastructure.
- Far from main towns or cities, is remote therefore transportation other than college bus is hard.
Remarks :
I got bad marks for entrance so I took a management seat. It was expensive. But students who got fairly good rank for keam can avail a merit seat at FISAT. The last rank for CS was 11,000 during my 1st year.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I took this course for it's varied job opportunities. Curriculum gives a moderate experience on real world problems but is improving. The frequency of the exams is not good because teachers are required to finish 6 month semesters in 3 months. This makes exams difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
I'm just studying at 2nd year, many AIECTC approved internships are offered. Many give training on essential skills. I would suggest to not focus on the stipend and just create an internship experience. Projects are also supported especially projects that help humankind.
Placement Experience :
Students are eligible from 6th-7th semester, TCS, Accenture, cognizant, etc are regular recruiters. Large number of offers are made. Highest was probably about 11 lakhs per annum, almost 90 percent of eligible students are placed. I'm planning to be placed in a company after which I might go for further studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost of education is fairly high. Management seats may not be affordable for poorer sections of society. Bus fees is also high, stationary is pricey. College is known for its campus placement but i have not reached that point in my education.
Campus Life :
Many events by different organizations are made. Bharatham is the largest tech fest event in FISAT. All books on technology and related aspects are made available. All eBook and journal subscriptions can be used. A gym facility is available with a selection for football and cricket teams. The IEEE is the main college organization along with others. They help students reach more aspects of engineering.
Faculty :
Faculty is friendly and able. Most faculty members have doctorates and many have completed their education from national institutes. Well versed in subject. Good student to faculty ratio. Some teachers might not force you to study so you have to put more effort. Good staff analysis and complaint system.

Our college is giving placement training from 3rd semester onwards however the placement procedure starts only from 7th semester. Our college have a very good placement cell a lot of core companies visit our college and a lot of offers are made If you cleares all backlogs when you are sitting for placement mostly you will get an offer The average package of our college in last year was 5.17 lakhs per annum with highest of 17+ lakhs per annum I am also looking to get placed in a good company Or otherwise choose to do mtech
Personal opinion on federal institute of science and technology
Placement Experience :
From semester 7 onwards placement procedure starts But we students get placement training from semester 3 onwards A lot of companies visits our college Infact fisat is one of the private college with the highest average salary package at 5.17 lakhs per annum with highest 17 lakh per annum Almost 95 percentage students with no present backlogs gets placed during the placement process I also wish to get placed in a company with a decent package

Course Curriculum Overview :
Nice course. I chose electrical and electronics engineering. And I'm proud to say that electrical engineers are the first to invent programming language and even computers for computer science students. Even though the course is maintained by University which is not located in this college is fine

The placemnlents offers our college are very high compared to other privates engineeeing college with an average annual package of 5.17 lakhs per annum There are many recruiter visiting the college which includes core and top tier companies. almost every person without a backlog is able to get one offer from the recruiters ,the highest package was above 17 lakhs in the previous year I am trying hard to get placed from the college with a decent amount of salary and if i am not satisfied i will pursue mtech

Course Curriculum Overview :
This vary according to the branch you took.Mine is a core subject,so its tough.The curriculum is prepared by kerala Technical University.The syllabus is quite difficult.Exams come every 2 months as series exams and the total semester duration is 5-6 months

Placement Experience :
Campus placements are there in the college IBM, Mitsubishi, many robotics startups has been part of the process I am missing some of the companies... But like most of the students gets placed and 3/4 courses has NBA accreditation so it has international validity.
