The Mathematics department of NIT Jalandhar is newly established and so not at par with the M.Tech. department. The faculty is not that experienced either and you will find assistant teachers more. Most of the NITs don't have faculties of varied expertise for the MSc program. Moreover, placements are also just average. Most of the students apply for teaching jobs or Ph.D. So opt MSc in Mathematics only if it is your last choice.
