Tripura University has extended the last date of application for admissions for the year 2020-21 to 15 August. The university has also revised the criteria for all the courses as it will not be holding the Tripura University Entrance Test (TUET) due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tripura University has decided that admissions will be based entirely on performance in the qualifying examination, instead of through TUET. For MBA courses, however, MAT scores or scores in similar tests will be taken into account.

Earlier, the university had released the admit card for the first, third and fifth semester examinations.

According to the official notification that was released on 3 July, the university will consider a number of factors. Admission Merit Lists for postgraduate courses will be prepared on the basis of the final results of the undergraduate degree courses. The lists will be finalized after the undergraduate courses are declared by the university.

The academic section will send the category-wise list of applications to every department for the finalization of the merit list. The applicants will have to go for counselling with their final results.

The merit list will be prepared by each department, which will consider the overall percentage. It must be noted that Honours candidates will be given priority over Pass candidates. For Honours candidates, the total marks obtained in the Honours subject will be considered, while for Pass candidates, the aggregate marks will be taken into account.

The Departments related to practical-oriented courses such as Physical Education and Music will conduct counselling sessions according to their requirements.

The university will share a revised schedule for admissions later.
