New Delhi: Sister Nivedita University (SNU) and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research cooperation and faculty and student exchange, particularly in the fields of bioscience and technology.

MoU will connect Durgapur with Kolkata: NIT Durgapur Director

In areas including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), cyber security and cyber physical systems, biotechnology, bio informatics, allied health sciences, and pharmaceutical sciences, the MoU is expected to foster cooperation and collaboration from the institutes. The MoU is a crucial milestone since it will link not only two institutions but also Durgapur and Kolkata, according to Prof. Anupam Basu, director of NIT Durgapur. "NIT has a rich research history, and we at SNU are committed to fostering student interest in research as well. The fact that NIT has offered their help is an opportunity for SNU, according to Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of SNU. "Our students need to be exposed to the appropriate research environment," she stated.

Along with frequently holding conferences, workshops, and seminars, SNU and NIT also want to apply for funding for their research from both public and private sources. NIT's director and vice chancellor announced that they will work together to create centres of excellence. The contract was signed by Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay and Anupam Basu in the presence of Sanku Bose, the group CEO of Techno India Group.
