Patna University (PU) resumed classroom teaching on Monday in all its affiliated colleges after nearly 10 months. However, the attendance of students was not very promising on Day 1.
Further, Classes in PG departments of Patna University were also resumed on Monday.
At Magadh Mahila College each class was divided into two parts, and no student was allowed to enter inside the gymnasium, common room or canteen.
Principal Shashi Sharma informed the media that ensuring social distancing among students on the campus was a tough task. She tried to make sure that students do not gather in groups.

The attendance of students was also less at Patna Science College, but everyone was wearing masks. “All departments have installed sanitizing machines for students, employees, and faculty members,” added Principal SR Padmadeo.
Further, Patna college Principal Ashok Kumar revealed that only a few students had attended classes on Monday. However, he hoped that attendance would improve shortly.
“The guidelines issued by the education department as well as the instructions issued by PU are being followed strictly. No gathering of students is allowed, and the entire campus has been sanitized,” he added.

PU Political Science department head Shefali Roy, stated, “Only third-semester students with odd and even roll numbers are being called on alternate days. They have been informed that they have to follow the safety norms quite religiously.”
On the other hand, Geology department head Atul Aditya Pandey expressed that students were quite happy to turn up for offline classes and interact with their teachers after a long break.
