New Delhi: Madras University has begun Distance Education admission for the academic session 2023-24 at the registration portal. Interested candidates can apply through the official website. The application deadline is expected to be in March 2023.
IDE officials expect to enrol at least 5,000 to 7,000 students in this session.
The application process will likely continue till March, officials said. “After UGC informs us about the late date of the admission session, we will close the sale of applications,” said an IDE official.
In 2021-22, IDE enrolled 32,599 students. IDE officials said that the demand for distance education courses saw a surge in 2020.
There are two sessions: one that starts in April and ends in December. Another starts in January and ends in March.

Madras University Distance Education Admission Process 2023
For a distance education course at Madras University, students can apply through both online & offline mode. The admission process is done on the basis of merit and entrance both. Applicants need to follow some steps while applying for University of Madras IDE. The store for the both procedures are noted down:
For the online application:

Applicants are required to visit the official website of the university.

Register themselves through the admission portal.

Select the desired course and fill the application form with the adequate details.

Submit the application form with requisite documents and pay the application fees through online Net Banking or via Debit/Credit Card.
For the offline application:

Students can obtain an application form by visiting the college campus and have to pay INR 200 for the application form.

Fill the application form with all the required academic & personal details and choose the desired course.

Attach the requisite documents and submit the application form.

The following Certificates (Original) should be enclosed while not fail :
- 10th Mark List.
- Intermediate Mark List.
- PG Degree first Year Statement of Marks.
- UG Degree Certificate with Statement of Marks
- Transfer documents from the establishment wherever they completed the primary Year Postgraduate Course.
- Two complete sets of genuine photograph copies of the on top of Format for Post Graduation Lateral admission
- Reproduction of information punctually genuine
