Gangadhar Meher University (GMU Sambalpur) offers PhD programmes in various specialisations including Chemistry, Geography, Commerce, Odia , Economics, Political Science, Education, and Zoology. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till October 20, 2022. 

Admission to the PhD programme will be made strictly on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in the written exam conducted by the university.

The university will conduct the entrance test on October 26, 2022 from 10 - 11.30am followed by viva voce from 11.30 am onwards in the respective departments.

All the eligible candidates with entrance test scores and those who are exempted from taking the entrance test will be called for viva voca by the respective department. 

Gangadhar Meher University PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates holding a master’s degree or MPhil degree from a recognized university or institute are eligible. 
• UGC/CSIR (JRF) exam qualified candidates & NET/SLET/GATE/ Teachers Fellowship holders are exempted from giving entrance tests but they will have to appear for the viva/ interview conducted by the university.
• Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent Grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale in their M.Phil., will also be exempted from appearing in the entrance test.

• Candidates' selection to the PhD programme will be based on the merit list prepared by the university on the basis of Weightage on academic record with 70% and Viva-voce performance of 30%.

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
