Let us discuss about each of the facts individually. The first point made by the author is about the lack of trust by the customers due to the fact that many of the products now are given special labels. With time, these labels have started to lose its value. Lecturer opposes this point by stating the fact that when such claims are made by reputed Companies, people do pay attention to claims made by them. She also believes that people would eventually incline themselves to the products endorsed by a reputed organization.

Second point made by the author is regarding cost involved in Inspection process. He states that it is too costly to inspect the woods, and that in turn increases the cost of product. Article mentions that American consumers are highly price driven and would go towards the cheaper uncertified woods. Lecturer negates this point by stating the fact that wood inspection would raise the price of product by only five percent. This slight increase will not affect the purchase of certified woods. According to her, Americans are not that much price driven.

The third and final argument made by the author is regarding the business. In the article, it is mentioned that Companies in America need eco-certification only for international trade. Since most of their sales are in domestic market, they don’t require this certificate as people are already satisfied with the product. Lecturer refuses this argument by mentioning the fact that other companies can also enter America, and pose competition for American Industries. These competitors may get an edge with the eco-certificate that they would be possessing, ultimately putting American Wood industries into trouble.

From above arguments, it can be concluded that eco-certification of wood has the potential to become a major market driver in near future in American Market. Since the points mentioned by authors were easily negated by the lecturer with facts, it can easily be realized that Wood Certification has the ability to drive the market, and working towards this direction can bring a huge difference.
