Improving own skills and abilities is important is essential for all. I think that it is better to study with a teacher and I prefer it over the study alone option for two reasons, which is discussed in the following essay.

Firstly, studying with a teacher keeps us focused by avoiding all distractions. I believe these are the two things students mostly struggle with now. We have technological distractions from our smartphones, social media, and unnecessary notifications. Our firm plans cannot last long as it is difficult to stay focused on a study plan – we are much prone to get entertainment instead. I have experienced the same again and again during my graduation days. When I was trying to improve my English score I had several failed attempts as I need to check my phone every time and I end up engaging myself with the phone keeping the book aside. But, I realized the difference when I switched to study with a tutor, as, she used to rebuke me whenever I used the phone. She wants her class to be a disciplined one, checking mobile was under punishment, and I actually improved my score in English.

Secondly, we don’t know about our intelligence, and it causes problems during studying alone. Some people think that just with a textbook, they can learn anything on their own which is not true. They believe that they can make a curriculum and own a study plan. But, this is the forte of the trained experts as they are actually good at it. For example, when I started learning English by myself, I made a study plan but my plans fell apart. Making a study plan needs an expert’s brain to understand the strengths and weaknesses. As I switched to study with a tutor, she assessed my skills very well to create a realistic study plan for me.

To conclude, I strongly think that it is better to study with a teacher than to study alone for a really good score and guidance.
